One time I was at the Wynn and they played the theme from Diamonds are Forever in the casino. That was really cool.

My wife and I have a Vegas playlist that we listen to on our drive to the airport (and at other times leading up to a Vegas trip). It contains songs that either (a) have a Vegas theme, or (b) remind us of Vegas in some way.

Many of the songs we would never listen to outside of this playlist, so it isn't necessarily a collection of "good" music, and it has a wide range of styles. It has grown over the years. I don't have it right here, but here are some of the songs I know are on it.

    (1) Luck by a Lady - Sinatra
    (2) Viva Las Vegas - ZZ Top
    (3) Spin me Round? - Flo-rida (from Hangover)
    (4) Can't tell me nothin' - Kanye
    (5) Wakin' up in Vegas - K. Perry
    (6) The Nights - Aviccii
    (7) Con te Partiro - We seem to always here this one with the fountains
    (8) B**** better have my money - wife's "message" to the slot machines
    (9) Final Countdown
    (10) I've got a feelin' - Black Eyed Peas
    (11) Shots - LMFAO (Video was filmed at our home base - V/P)
    (12) Time of Our Lives - Pitbull
    (13) Sin City - AC/DC
    (14) Joker and the Thief - Wolfmother
    (15) The Gambler - Kenny Rogers
    (16) Poker Face - Lady GaGa
    (17) Mas Tequila - Sammy Hagar
    (18) Viva La Vida - Coldplay
    (19) In da Club - 50 cent
    (20) Who Let the Dogs Out - Baha Men

I know I'm forgetting some, and likely some obvious ones, but that's a good start. Some songs are virtually unlistenable outside of context - just as many of our Vegas movies are virtually unwatchable unless we're gearing up for our next Vegas trip (I'm looking at you Paul Blart Mall Cop 2)

I'm always partial to the Dread Zeppelin version of Viva Las Vegas that they did as the theme song for American Casino (that show about Green Valley Ranch back in like...2004). I hadn't been to Vegas before and that got me considering going. I went later that year or the next.

I like this song bc it is a metaphor for personal character. At least I interpret it that way.

The Dan reference Vegas in "Do It Again" too, usually on my list.

    Steely Dan? No ShowBiz Kids?
One that always gets stuck in my head is Billy Idol's Eyes Without a Face. Took my first trip, when it was out. The line: "Steal a car and go to Las Vegas", always takes me back...

This one is a little on the psychedelic jammy side of things, but it is sort of clever.

These guys used to play Vegoose for Halloween, and are pretty regular at the Brooklyn Bowl.

Razor Boy is a bit Vegas-y too, maybe more for the end of the trip.

"Ain't that a Kick in the Head" is a great Vegas song. It can be a kick in the head, but we keep going back!

"I couldn't be any better or I'd be sick" LOL

How can there be a Vegas Song Thread without mentioning "Las Vegas Turnaround" (The Stewardess Song)
by Hall & Oates on the Abandoned Luncheonette LP 1973. The song was written by John Oates (weird I know)
about Daryl Hall's then girlfriend Sara Allen (Sara Smile). Great early H&O LP! One of my Favorites!
