This is a pretty silly topic.

Unless you can't find limits that suit you in Vegas, the Canadian dollar value has no bearing on your gambling.

You win and lose in the same currency so it's 1:1 just like Vegas.

Winning USD$100, CAD$141 or ZWD$36100 makes no difference.

The topic of Canadians having a tougher time in Vegas due to the exchange rate has more bearing.

But Americans going up to Canada to gamble makes absolutely 0 sense.

Well for me I enjoy the town of Windsor but when the CAD came on par it was not worth the price for me to keep going, hotel and food wise.

Another thing to keep in mind is your drinks and behaviour is monitored pretty closely at casinos here. I've been to some Canadian casinos where the waitress won't bring you more than 1 drink in half an hour. I've been cut off after 3 drinks having fun with friends. This is mostly because of liabilities in case you drink and drive. Vegas intoxication would never ever be allowed to happen here. Wouldn't be allowed thru the doors lol

That assumes your only expense is gambling. And with the exchange rate with all else being equal, you could risk less for the same comps.

Nope. they will call a cab for you once you've kicked out for intoxication. Also, last call for alcohol is 140 am. No drinks after 2am

Yes, if you have them in the room. Can't take a traveller.

You can still get as wasted as you like, but bars need to be careful about serving you after a certain point. How careful they are depends place to place, server to server, and also depends how you carry in. Some people seem visibly drunk when they are barely over the limit. Some people still look like they can perform surgery until their BAC reaching 'legally dead' levels.

There IS an LLBO, but that is the licensing division. They issue the liquor licenses for bars and restaurants.

as a patron of the fine arts, I always liked the Ballet in Windsor. Years ago, I had some product training in Bowling Green Ohio followed by dinner in Toledo. After dinner, a colleague convinced me to see the ballet in Windsor, the dancers were quite limber.

As for paying for parking at Casino Niagara, it was free for me about two months ago as I had a players card, I am not sure of the current policy. Both Fallsview and Casino Niagra are owned by the same company and use the same players card. The Buffet at Fallsview is pretty good and last time it was CAD $20, and a bargain. Lunch at Casino Niagara was pretty good at around CAD $13 or so. All I know is I handed the cashier my card and a USD $20 and got CAD $12 change.

Fallsview is nice and I would go there again, they occasionally get some good entertainment. We are about 6 hours by car, so its a little too far for a weekend getaway. The Quality Inn across the street is pretty decent and offers free parking and I think free breakfast.

As for bringing in booze from the American duty free into Canada, if you declare it, tell them its for your personal consumption. I brought in two bottles of American Rye Whiskey (bought in Buffalo) as gifts for colleagues and ended up paying around $43 in various taxes and duty. I was told if I had just declared it for personal consumption, there would be duty on only one bottle.

But on your way back into the States, the best deal at Canadian duty free is the one Liter bottle of Plymouth Gin and Goslings Bermuda rum, less than half price compared to buying it in the States.

I like a different ballet with equally limber dancers in Windsor :evillaugh

I do like the art museum there though.

Also it is important to point out there are limits to what you can bring in duty free, good point and you need more than a night stay to get it duty free as well.

When you are in Canada, the appropriate term is "Shoe Models".

Forum Tower says it is adults only. We go to Caesars Windsor every couple months on comps between Vegas trips and we love the no smoking. The additional play with the exchange is good too.

    Hmmmm. Not sure I agree.

A US Player has $5000 US, walks up to a Buffalo slot machine in Vegas and plays at $8.00 per spin. He has 625 spins to accumulate wins to extend their play, or hopefully hit the jackpot.

Same player brings his $5K US BR to Canada, and now has $6867. Walking up to the same slot in Canada, he now has 858 spins. In essence, he gets 233 free spins at $8 to accumulate more credits, and, chances at hitting a Jackpot.

    Thoughts?

That is my thinking. It is more bullets in the gun for me to hit a royal. That being said I get what shifter is saying.

Although no w2g would be a big plus, though you are supposed to report it to irs.

Like I said it makes it more favorable due to the costs, in Windsor in particular it is a higher markup at places in the city due to young punk Americans coming up!

Yes, because Forum tower is part of the casino with no separate entrance. Kids can't even walk through, Families can stay in the Augustus tower, not for the pool etc, they are sol
