best time to book for Mid-March?

When is the best time to books hotels for second week in March prices are really high now!

Time's past probably.

Assuming no comps, anything past the first week in March is going to be astronomical now. You might have gotten some decent deals for Black Friday or Cyber Monday but those are gone now. You'd be better off pushing your reservation back or forward if you're trying not to pay an arm and a leg. NASCAR, March Madness, St Patrick's, and a couple big conventions all that month. I'm in and out 1st to 6th, before all the crazy hits.

I agree. I managed to get a reasonable deal though my (meager) MLife points (for Excalibur) on the 2nd and 3rd. My daughter, and friends, are paying almost $400 for that weekend.

MLife had a some kind of 'sale' a couple of days ago.

check frequently, book / cancel / re-book if you have to. mid-march will not be a bargain week, if you see something that looks at least fair -- grab it.

As others have said, March 15th-18th is the first rounds of March Madness and will be the busiest days of the year, so if you can adjust dates, then I would do so. Look at going Sun-Tues during April if possible. There are some cheap timeframes then.
