The best weather I ever had was the first week of October. The worst was the last week in May, believe it or not. I usually go in August to avoid the crowds, but this last time was just as crowded the second week of August.

As for shows, I've seen all the Cirques I ever want to see in two lifetimes and most of the comedians. I like to search out the summer for specific rock bands. This year, I saw Heart.

I'm not real in to Hotel displays. I walk through and think "Oh, that's pretty" or "Awesome" and keep going. IMHO, the Wynn grounds are always worth a walkthrough. Little else really gets to me. I never could understand the fascination with the Bellagio fountains.

Shake it all up in a paper bag and my recommendation would be second week of September to second week of October.

    Now!

My favorite time to go to Las Vegas is NOW!
Nov or Dec and sometimes NYE. Also my Birthday Month - Feb.
I prefer cooler Weather, Christmas decor and fewer crowds.

Since the OP mentioned displays, Chinese New Year is another time to consider. The casinos put the most effort their decor that time of year and you can usually find deals.

The perfect time to go for me is when there is SNOW on the ground and the Temperatures are 10 degrees or Below, then Temps in the 50's in Vegas feel GREAT.
The first 3 weeks in December are usually Very Cheap.

I love going middle of December.... slow time for Vegas. For me, sitting at the slots, coctail in hand and listening to X-mas music in the Casino is such a great escape from the holiday stress! (Of course I also love going in Jan, Feb, Mar, April, May, June, July, Aug, Sept, Oct & Nov also!!!! Blahhhh!!!!)

    Ditto.
First week in December has historically been my luckiest winning time, the bonus of the awesome holiday displays everywhere, and very few kids, makes this my number one favorite time to visit. But I will happily visit anytime of the year...

We go in December. Love it. It's nice to see the decor, and the prices are cheap. It's chilly and windy though...we're from NC, and temps are about what they are here in the winter. For someone who lives in a cooler place, though, it's probably not so bad.

    First post!

We are heading back to Vegas on the 9th of December for 7 nights. We have been for the past 2 years in a row, always at the beginning of November. What can we expect this time round weather wise? We found the weather at the beginning of November to be lovely. Shorts & T-shirt during the day and a shirt and jeans during the evening. Never any need for jackets, jumpers etc. Bare in mind that we are coming from Scotland, UK. 20 degrees celcius is considered a hot, summers day for us!

Non peak is after the rodeo but before Christmas in December. Sometimes a few dates in the hottest part of summer but December is reliable.
My favorite times for weather is October and April. Not the cheapest though.

We went in December 2012 (from Norway) and weather was mostly decent. I wore a thin sweater most of the time, but my husband who isn't easily cold didn't, he just wore t-shirts. Some of the evenings got pretty windy though, so that might be something to keep in mind.

Mid-week (always)...Sundays through Thursdays... skip the weekend element entirely when possible, and more comps/offers are available if you're not staying on a Friday or Saturday night...
I prefer to go in spring (late February through early April), and in the fall (October/November).
No jacket needed & no excessive heat.

I'm a big fan of Early October to Early November trips. The weather is still warm enough for t-shirts and shorts and you can walk all day without wanting to die. Football season is also going on, which makes Sunday's a blast. I've gone in December and while it was a little colder, I still had a blast (how could you not in Vegas). I've gone to Vegas in April,May,June,July,September,October, November and December and I really haven't had an issue with a trip once. This will be my first January trip. A little nervous about the weather but it still will beat being in Toronto. Besides, I spend most of my time in the casino anyways!!
