It can be a little shady craps wise there but cheap. One of my favorite Casino Royale craps moments was when the stick man was using a taped together stick (no spares?)
And the other thing was stick man would shove back the dice with sevens showing. I wouldn’t pick up the dice and he wasn’t getting the message.

This was a long time ago.
Could have been a newer crew guy or having a bad day.

I avoid CR for the reasons previously mentioned in this thread but at least they are a $5 Craps option on the strip. The place I've been able to find the most consistent $5 craps game at all hours is definitely Excalibur. Never played at Flamingo but heard they have $5 games as well (@EastCoastVegasFan! confirmed they do by the pool anyway). Have also heard you can find a $5 game at "new O'Shea's" in the LINQ. Other than those places I've come up empty searching on the strip. I was surprised to hear word of a regular window for $5 craps at NYNY earlier in this thread. I constantly end up cruising through that casino at all hours but haven't seen a table with those limits just yet.

I remember my first ever time at the craps table. I asked for a clarification on the pass line outcome to the player on my right. She stared at me for a few seconds then snatched all her chips up and left the table :haha:. I'd say that is overwhelmingly the exception and 95% of craps players love talking about the game, would be happy to help and are very patient with new players.

YES!!! This the reason that I do not play there. Their dealers are the worst!!

I disagree. I've gotten belly laughs out of some of the dealers on occasions. I was just there last week and had no problem.

Agree about Excalibur. Friendly dealers, $5 all day. I enjoyed playing there.

They want to make sure the attempt is there. TI threatened to kick us out last yr on the first occurrence of this. We told them that kind of harassment was unnecessary and next thing I know it’s spiraled out of control to the point we’re talking with some higher up manager [emoji2369]

Personally I’d recommend O’Sheas. It’s loud but everyone has been really cool there. Good dealers, etc.

You should do one of the How to play craps classes. Most of the casinos have them, usually in the morning(10 or 11 or noon). They usually give you a match play coupon, and you get a good refresher on how the game works.

Morning has lower limits. Play where you stay in general; or just check out the tables until you see one with a good vibe. A good dealer team makes the game more fun.

I remember the first time I played was in Tunica. Nolan Ryan couldn't throw harder than I was, dice flying everywhere. Dealers were good to me and nicely suggested I settle down and mentioned in Vegas they would have asked me to leave.

Any empty (or not too busy) table. Ask the dealer to help you in keeping your bets 'correct' and they will gladly do it. If the table is busy they just can't give you the attention that you want/need.
What is a correct bet? Placing the 6 or 8 for $6 instead of $5 because the payout is $6 pays $7 but if you're a newbie and only bet $5 on the 6 or 8 it will only pay an even $5. Look at all the people that bet $10 on the 6 or 8. The dealer should be helping them by telling them that the correct bet is $12 (paying $14) but if they're busy they'll just take the bad bet and keep their mouth shut.

You could have picked pairs, 3,4,5,6,1 or 2.

Vegas would not have asked you to leave, they would have said the same thing.

It was after I established the point. Any good stick man will shove the dice back to the shooter with something other than a seven showing.

I would recommend the 4:00 am to noon all female craps crew at The Linq. The ladies are hilarious and entertaining, unlike a lot of dealers who just stand there. The back and forth between themselves and themselves and the players is a lot of fun. If you place a bet for them and ask them for help, they'll be happy to provide it. The one table is sometimes $5 during the morning hours during the week.

If they're busy or just don't give a shit.
I don't see dealers book $10 on the 6/8 very often.
Usually they say I need $2.
If I am anywhere near the player that makes the $10 bet, I usually lean over and tell them to make it $12 so they get paid right.

The only place I've ever seen dealers NOT correct this bet is on the Strip in LV. As far as I know, other jurisdictions, like where I play in AC, won't take a $10 bet on the 6 or 8. On the Strip, they usually won't correct a newbie because there's no incentive for them to do so. If the player is betting $10 he/she doesn't know sh*t about the game or pays. The player is a transient. Unless they ask, showing they're open to being helped, they most likely will just blame the dealer for their higher losses. I don't know if I was a dealer on the Strip if I would bother correcting all of the newbie wrong bets either.

I'm also a beginner. I'm planning on playing some craps for the first time on my next trip. But I think I'm just going to stick to the bubble craps machines. I know most won't do it because experienced players will say it's not as much fun. But in my mind I think it will be a great way to learn (as well as teach my brother about the basics) without a ton of pressure. I'll probably watch some youtube videos of bubble craps to familiarize myself with the layout and what not. I'm also assuming that these are mostly $5 minimums like video roulette? Or is it $10? Any other tips for playing at the machines? I know I won't earn any points at them.

Some Bubble Craps machines have $5 minimum on the passline, some $3 and even $1 (at Palms). None I have seen ever had $10 minimum. As for points, many casinos offer points albeit not a lot of points. The places I have seen points given include CET, Binions, 4 Queens. The ones I have seen no points: Aria, Golden Nugget, Plaza.

Finally, I do think it is a good way to learn about craps and even experiment with different betting styles.
