Some somewhat-current statistics on slot payout averages:

    http://www.americancasinoguide.com/slot-machine-payback-statistics.html

Wow, Megabucks REALLY sucks. Unless you get that ONE win. :peace:

The difference between 25¢ slots is actually quite significant.

    The Strip - 91.52%
    Boulder Strip - 97.01%

Of course, all these averages are theoretical LONG-TERM paybacks. Any 2, 4, or 10 hour session isn't going to yield these values. But it's also nice to know what you're up against.

I more or less gave up on slots because they're simply too volatile these days for my taste. I'd prefer to lose $100 over several hours with some moderate wins than go through wild sings waiting for a big bonus round and tanking in the meantime. Losing $100 in 10 minutes then getting a $125 bonus round is not fun for me. Much the same way that the double-double-double-double bonus video poker works...your money is on a quick downhill slide unless you get one of those bonus hands. Not my style, but many people enjoy that excitement.

It really sucks that the Strip pays so poor. And looking at the latest Gaming Board report, it looks like it's just getting worse.

    http://gaming.nv.gov/modules/showdocument.aspx?documentid=7672

    Jan 2013 Strip returns:
    Pennies 86.13% (what a joke)
    Nickels 90.04%
Quarters 89.89% (another big joke...especially since this will have a decent amt of VP included)
    Dollars 91.50%
    5 Dollars 93.48%
    25 Dollars 93.24%
100 Dollars 91.55% (lol...but could be bad variance though)
Multi Denomination 92.85% (this likely has a lot of VP too)

Even if Megabucks paid out around 95%, it would still suck. Heck, even at 100% it would suck. It needs ALOT of people to blow their money before paying out $10m
