I haven't stayed on that side of the Strip in 7 or so years. What is the best route to get there to tell the driver?

If you are doing Uber no need in telling them they will take the best way. If you were not taking Uber you may want to think about It. We did Uber from airport to Mirage and it was $10.14 the last time we took a taxi going to the same place it was 29.00.

With Mirage being so far up the strip, one could argue that the tunnel/expressway MIGHT be a better option. If traffic on or near the strip is heavy, we actually prefer going that way. I do not like all the stop and go in local traffic and prefer the easy ride on the expressway. They get off expressway and cut through TI right into Mirage.

I agree with JeJas and nostresshere, use the 1-15 and exit Spring Mountain Rd., take a right on LVB and Mirage is right there.
The idea is to use the fastest route with minimal stops along the way. So driving to Mirage means exiting north of Mirage (at Spring Mountain and LVB.), and since Mirage is on the West side of the Strip it also makes it easier.

I-215W to I-15N, exit Spring Mountain, there's a short cut behind TI, right turn on Mel Torme Way, that will connect to the North entrance of the Mirage. Sometimes going to LVB trying to make a right can get really backed up as well as traffic on the Strip heading South back to the Mirage.

LV Cajun is right. Tunnel. I-15. Spring Mountain East. Right on Mel Torme Way just before Treasure Island. Super easy.

You don't need to take the tunnel if you want to use the expressway. It can be picked up from Tropicana. Using the tunnel may make it faster but also more expensive.

That's true in a taxi but at the low rates Uber and Lyft charge it will only make the fare about $2-$3 more.
