As just about everyone else we are following the quarantine rules. Also just like just about everyone else we are abusing our amazon account.

So what is your best quarantine splurge on amazon? Ours by far would be our new Coleman inflatable hot tub. We purchased this early in the quarantine and received it about 2 weeks ago. We paid $416 on prime, now the price is up to $574.

Mrs Wallew has been enjoying this everyday. I’ve only been in twice but our 3 girls have been about every other day. Maybe the best $400 we have spent in quite a while.

Not Amazon but in the last three weeks I have spent what would have been a couple of days' Vegas bankroll on QVC and HSN. (I say that as it helps me justify the spend. I "saved" money not going to Vegas for 2 weeks this month.) Clothes, sterling silver jewelry, Beekman 1802 products, makeup, Irish sweaters (big March 17th purchase) and wine for me but lots of food items and wine for about two dozen other people -- family, friends, the minister at my home church in Buffalo, etc. I have to say, the gifts especially to others were worth every penny. I didn't expect anything in return but getting a package with cheese, wine, cheesecake, etc. was an unexpected treat and I underestimated how much it would brighten someone's day in these trying times. QVC/HSN made the "bill to/ship to someone else without the prices showing and with a free message" very easy.

I can personally attest that QVC and HSN are making a financial killing and frankly, I find it comforting, even if I don't buy anything, to just listen to some of the hosts that I like.

I do not buy anything from Amazon, but since the local stores will no longer accept recyclable aluminum cans, I picked up one of these on FleaBay.

At some point a few 40 gallon plastic bags of aluminum at the scrapper maybe worth a buck or two.

Nothing out of the ordinary -- yet -- from Amazon. But I ordered cheesesteaks through Goldbelly. And I bought a new bike. Perfect time to do what we can to support any of our awesome local bike shops. (Clarification, it was an online purchase that was direct-ship to my LBS and they make what they'd have made if it came from inventory.)

I've been very frugal. I did allow myself one purchase (not from Amazon): a Mad Men-esque Spring dress for work, assuming I get to go to work again! Right now the weather is too rotten to wear it, even for dog walks.

My next indulgence is an American Casino Guide 2020 edition. I need some Vegas optimism in this mess! NYNY Haagen-Dazs store here I come!

I love that location! Haaden-dazs reminds me of the 1990s, and so when I stayed at 1990s chic Excalibur in 2018( I think?), their shakes were the cherry on top of the non-drinking nights. I got to know all the fastest routes around Excal, and the ice cream place was just across the pedestrian bridge. Got zero eye rolls for using coupons too. Can't wait to go back!

Great minds... @BlacklabberMike. Husband has that very can crusher above the recycling bins in our garage.
    Works like a charm.

I’m sorry that I thought I would start a light hearted thread during tense times. I guess maybe this was the wrong place to try and make light of a tough situation.

Right about now we could really use another serious thread about resort fees, parking fees or the fact that we can’t find $2 table games.

Derail here and ignoring all the nonsense, how are you enjoying the portable tub? We have a permanent hot tub, put it in 5 years ago and LOVE it. We use it every single day almost. I've read all sorts of varying reviews of the portable type.

As for Amazon, we've bought nothing at all. Haven't even been browsing actually. Once we run out of content to watch though I suspect we will start browsing around.

As for the can crusher, had one for years. Mounted right above our recycle bins. Love it. Helps get frustration out in small bursts. Besides it scares the beejesus out of the cat when she sleeps near the wall and that is worth it all by itself (she has a habit of scaring me half to death on a weekly basis so this is my revenge).

I had quite a bit of Amazon/Target/Best Buy gift cards so I picked up a Nintendo Switch. Picked up a few games, an micro SD card, looking for a case so I can take it on trips to Vegas... annnnnd there goes $500-600. Pretty sweet device though. I really like how I can either play on my TV or take it on the go (which these days is either my bed or the couch).

Right? I'm sorry that happened AGAIN here. I've cleaned up all the people who felt the need to pee in your pool.

Please continue being lighthearted in these tense times. We need it. And feel free to use the Report link to let us know when people are doing this.

Not on amazon, but did order six dining room chairs, a 9’x9’ rug, dog toys, make-up, and a few dressy items of clothing I can’t wear anywhere due to self-isolation (have been exposed and work in healthcare). This home office is getting expensive :) My husband is looking forward to me working back at work to keep cost down :D

Right before everything hit the fan I bought a Nintendo Switch for my wife, and now I've been on eBay a few times to buy some video games for my PS4.
