I’ve noticed this about the LINQ
yes, it’s against Nevada state law to charge a cover for gambling. Just tell them you’re going to play. If dice setting is your thing, this table is a dream come true.

Hmmmm ... I thought they would be floating, as awkward as that may seem. I know that back in the Bad Old Days when the Mob Ran Vegas (tm) some hotels had swim-up blackjack.

That’s correct. Just remember, there is a large line to get into this pool. If you’re diamond, there is a special line for you to enter with one guest. If you’re not diamond, you might want to think about showing early to avoid the line.

On the pool-side gaming at Flamingo, is it just craps? Or are there blackjack tables too?

They have one craps table, about 3 BJ tables & want to say there is 3 card poker table as well. Please note, this is under a hut and is not "swim up" blackjack that you'll find at Caesars and Tropicana.

I have met all kinds of people at the Flamingo Pool and socialized with them. Heck we even went and bought a beach ball and started a game in the pool with a group of probably 20 people. It's a good time!

It will be 100% out of control and packed to the gills. Do not be too hung over because the deejay will not be taking time outs that day.

I'd recommend renting a day bed. It will be crowded!

    My view on CET pools:

Harrahs: Shameful to have a pool that bad in Vegas for a hotel that big.
PHO: See Harrah's comment. Concrete platform over the casino.
Paris: Surprisingly nice and great view from the roof top. I little more relaxing and mellow.
Bally: Old school, not as busy or loud, and it has a deep end.
Flamingo: Busy and fun and absolute chaos during the summer. Be prepared to party.
Caesars: This is the place for adults to relax. We usually alternate between Flammy and CP depending on our mood.
Cromwell: During the week this place is a nice little idyllic paradise. Last time I was there the day beds and couches were free because it was so slow. During the summer weekends, absolute chaos like Flamingo.
Linq: While I have not been there, my friends like it but it seems to strike me as similar to Paris with louder music and a rowdier crowd.
Rio: Never been but it looks nice and I think it still has some sandy spots?

Yes, at Flamingo is king of "I'm going to throw my towel and empty bag on this chair, and come back in 5 hours". Day bed or cabana is the call here.

Interesting bit of information, that I'll have to keep in mind this pool season.

This is interesting, would this apply to encore beach club or XS by any chance? Wynncore have same gaming in their clubs, but somehow I cannot imagine they would let you in that easily when cover is usually like 100 bucks.

I wonder if there is away around it if gaming is not the primary purpose, in which case, casino could refer to other areas to people who say their primary purpose is gaming. If not, and too many people use that loophole, wouldn’t they just remove gaming? And that’s why we can’t have nice things

You don't even need a pool to have fun with beach balls! :)
