I will be in Vegas for a few days in March and was wondering best restaurant for a family(kids 8 and 6)? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I saw a pretty loud and embarrassing family fight at Shake Shake, which I attributed to Dad and his alcohol, the heat, and one of the kids wanting to eat some other place.
There's tons of places to eat in Vegas, all over the spectrum of expense, cuisine, atmosphere. I guess it comes down to what kids eat.

Rather than a restaurant, a buffet would probably have the best variety for everyone so each person can pick and choose whatever they like to eat.

When my son was 8, I took him to several places worth remembering:

1)Tournament of Kings - note that he wouldn't eat the Cornish Game Hen because "it looks like a baby."
2)Rainforest Cafe (when it was at MGM) - my meal was horrible, but because it was close to the time that Ka was starting, I couldn't send it back.
    3)Fuddruckers at the Orleans
4)The buffet at Excalibur - he liked that place
5)The Burger place at Palazzo (no longer there)
    6)Grand Lux Cafe at Palazzo

It depends on what your budget is and what your kids eat. I used the buffets to introduce him to different foods.

The Rainforest Cafe would be good. (It's not in MGM anymore - it's now on the corner near Planet Hollywood). We have not visited the Vegas one, but we took our nephew and niece to the one in London and they loved it. The food was pretty average, but the decor and animals etc made it a fun experience for the kids.

Write now the plan is either Venetian or Four seasons. Haven’t finalized that. We will have a car though.

I would get a car and take them around. This comes to mind.

If staying at the Venetian, Grand Lux Cafe (think Cheesecake Factory +) should be a good family-friendly option :)

My kids always wanted to go to one of the station casinos to play at kids qwest. They like the cafe pancakes at Sunset Station.

I think it depends on the kids. Where do you take them at home? What kinds of food do they like?

Grand Lux at Venetian might work for you. Good variety on the menu, but portions are big. Plan accordingly. :)

When you decide where you'll be staying get on the website for that hotel and others in the area and check out the eats. You know your kids so make decisions from there. And remember, Vegas is also a big city with kajillions of kids and families. They gotta eat, too. Jump in your rental car and the sky's the limit, so to say.

I also agree Tournament of Kings is a good choice. But if they don't like chicken......

Or a buffet like the Mirage if you are at Venetian.

I take my kids to every restaurant at all price points and I have found that they pretty much will eat as long as the food is good, doesn’t matter the locale or price. They don’t care if the steak is from Hell’s Kitchen or Ellis Island. Point is, play it by ear and/or go to where you and the wife want to go. You’re paying anyway lol.

I’ve seen large families at Cucina / Wolfgang Puck in Crystals. I think they even had a family night, or special family portions. That might be good. Not totally kid centric so the grown ups get to chill a bit.

Ladies getaway, somewhere on the strip with a pool :)

If you have a car, or willing to cab.... off Strip.....

Konbea Conveyor Belt Sushi. AYCE. Good food, lots of cooked Asian options. Several kid friendly choices. They should be entertained by the coneyor belt and robotic trolley delivering food. And can finish with Mochi Ice Cream Sandwiches or deep fried Oreos.

    Or

Juan's Flaming Fajitas. Very family-friendly Mexican Food.

Take them anywhere you would like to eat. Let them see all types of dining. It will give them a good experience and give you an opportunity show them how to dine in public. It's a win all around.
