I appreciate everyone's feedback. I was curious to see if other resorts had this room arrangement available with 3 beds. Getting two king rooms, or any arrangement of separate bedrooms will just multiple the resort fee. Mandalay Bay must be the only resort doing offering this.

MGM Grand has the Marquee Suite which is a two king-bedroom. There are a handful of other two-bedroom suites, but MB may be one of the few or only ones that have a two-queen/one king configuration.

A lot of places will have a one bedroom suite with a connecting door to a regular room.

What are you dates of travel? Two rooms even with resort fees should be within your budget. CET has there semi-annual sale going on with code SEMI17. I would recommend Bally's for a great location and large rooms.

You will need some extra bathrooms. Some extra t.v.'s. Some peace and quiet. I like to sleep with the t.v. on and the lights on at hotel rooms. I like to take naps when I get tired.

The Brady Bunch together-ness will be too much. lol. I think the parents will need their privacy.

Didn't we just have a thread that said I'm stupid because you think your way is the only/right way or something like that?
The OP knows what he wants and is just asking if anyone knows of anything comparable to what he has booked. He's being told... no way... get 3 rooms...different floors...just won't do. I guess we even know his family better than him cause it's just too much family togetherness...seriously?
I wish I could help you but I really don't have the knowledge for what you are looking for. I do hope you have a fantastic vacation with your family!

the problem is often people believe they know their family (or the other half) better, but in fact, not so much.

The room config. you need is just not common for casino hotels. Many have huge suites with one king bed. I agree with checking into the near strip time shares and condo hotels too. Even if they have only two beds listed, they will also have a pullout couch so they will fit your needs. Try checking out Elara, the Platinum, HGVC and places like them.

Multiply the resort fee? The room is $1200 a night. The resort fee is the least of your concern in terms of the overall price

Sounds like that suite is coming up about $300/night. Even during the week, it might be hard to find something that beats that.

    Just a few other options:
Mirage - Hospitality suite with adjoining 2 bed connector.
Elara - 3 BR suites or 2 BR suites with a sofa bed
Cosmo - Wraparound Terrace with adjoining 2 bed connector.

    OP mentioned money and privacy.

Your BEST BET for the most cost efficient way would be to rent an AirBNB.

I'm going next weekend with a group of 9 we rented a 4bedroom house 3 miles off strip for $512 all taxes + fees inclusive for 3 nights.

Sure, you won't have the convenience of a casino down stairs. But you'd have more money to gamble ;-)

The Mirage hospitality suite might be a good option to consider. They are one king bedrm and 2 queen bedroom with large living room with a U shaped couch w/2.5 baths. Our suite had a bar kitchen area and pool table also. Plenty of space for 5 adults.

Again, I appreciate everyone's feedback, so thank you! It looks like the 1 king/2 queen Panoramic Suite cannot be beat at $1200 total at MB. Mirage Hospitality Suite was a great recommendation and its probably better in my opinion, but it would raise the total by $800 and I can't justify that. As for the comments questioning my family's strange decision to spend time together, please keep in mind that my parents are paying and most importantly, I will be drunk.

Not to hijack the thread but a couple people mentioned Airbnb and I just read this article a while ago on line about them that you might find interesting. Seems like it's not quite legal in parts of the Valley. https://www.reviewjournal.com/post/1003867

Ha Ha - if you imbibe a bit, be sure to take a pic of your suite number so you can find your way back each night! No kidding, I don't drink but after switching hotels and a late night of slots I never can remember my room number, so the lifesaver pic of the room number is the first thing I do when I arrive to the room.

@EugeneChoi - Sounds like you've got great parents - hope y'all have a wonderful trip and please accept my apology for a less than helpful comment in an earlier post.

As long as he gets the right floor, he has at least a 1/3 chance. Those rooms are on the end caps of the wings. Just keep walking down the hall until you bump into the doors. If the key doesn't work, move on to the next wing. :drunk:

OP - it sounds like you got the right place for a great price. I like the MB complex and think you guys will have a great time. Other than location, I don't think the room at Mirage would offer more than you are getting at MB. Have a great time!

I'll offer my regular plug for the weekend brunch at Border Grill, and the chicken pot pie nuggets at Rx Boiler Room. :)
