@Retrobabble's recent trip report had me drooling and reminded me of how much I adore Eggs Benedict. What is your favorite Eggs Bene in Vegas?

Going to verify in a month how much I like Mon Ami Gabi for that dish. It has been much too long since I had their dish.

Had a special at Mon Am I Gabi in September. Crusty french bread, amazing bacon, brie, eggs and the hollandaise sauce. So great and fancy.

I would love to try some real, freshly made Eggs Benedict instead of that crap that I see sitting for hours on buffet tables.

Bouchon, Veranda, a couple other places over the years. There's no deep dark secret to Bennies, really, other than time is the decided enemy but that's true of so many items. Oh, can't forget, Omelet House Summerlin.

I had a Lamb Benedict at Mon Ami Gabi last year. Mmmmmm Poached egg with a excellent slice of Lamb on a nice baguette covered with Hollandaise with a side of Ratatouille. I need to get back!

I make my version all the time with bagels and over easy eggs. use a packet for the hollandaise or what passes for it for .69 cents.

    There's our Eddie!!

I've not priced it out, but an egg, two pats of butter, a tiny bit of acid and water, salt and cayenne can't be much for than a buck!

I will accept no substitutions on the classic dish. If you change something you have a four element breakfast offering which doesn't deserve a name. That being said, I will eat it from a buffet if available, but only after dumping two eggs over easy on top. I was recently surprised by the eggs Benedict that Downtown Grand's Freedom Beat delivered. Every element was correct. I have had standard, yeah, that's eggs Benedict at Magnolias, and I wouldn't trust El Cortez to produce an Egg McMuffin. Because I've had it. And they can't.

Short rib eggs Bene at the Henry in the Cosmo. Consolation prize for their standard Bene, but the short ribs one is heaven.

    MAG--their traditional bennie is terrific.
But they offer a special bennie each day.
A few years ago it was flank steak with caramelized onions--OMG THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER EATEN. I usually can eat about half of a serving. I ate EVERY bite & truly wanted to pick up that plate & lick it clean. I keep HOPING I catch that special again one day...

I second this. Although, my connection at Grand Lux in Venetian raved about their mushroom-bacon Benedict when I was there in May, so when I go again in August I'll have to give it a shot. She hasn't steered me wrong yet.

I may have to give that a shot since I'm a Marylander.
