We actually had some time to kill during our last stay, between MGM and MB (check in/check out).

Rather than use a cab, we trammed it over with absolutely no issues. The guy in the booth didn't say a word.

You can transport your luggage on the tram.

    Thanks Pressitagain.

To get to Gold Coast you can head down the strip and then use the 202 in front of Caesar's, but you might also tram and take the 201 (Tropicana) from NYNY to the Orleans and then their free shuttle to the Gold Coast if strip traffic is heavy. Probably this is rarely the right alternative.

Use the city bus rather than the free Boyd shuttle to get back to the strip from the GC and save the that walk from behind Bally's. However, if you want to get to Ellis Island, use the free shuttle as it drops very near.

If you are downtown and want to go out to Sam's Town, their free shuttle is about 15 minutes faster than the city bus.

The 106 from downtown will take you out to Texas Station or Fiesta Rancho for good VP even at the nickel level.
The HDX from downtown will actually go all the way to Fiesta Henderson now.

If you are downtown, remember that any bus that stops at Binions will take you to the BTC in a stop or two, so if you are going to make connection there, just hop on the first thing that comes, even the Veteran's bus, but be sure to hop off at the BTC and not miss that stop. Sometimes this is easier than looking for the odd stops downtown for other residential routes.

I don't see the free shuttles as much faster or more convenient than the buses. And I don't like having my luggage knocked about in the back, loaded and unloaded and repacked with others at the stops. On the buses luggage is in your own hands only.

Okay, don't crawl so long you forget to win money.

Well, one of the tips was dead wrong.
You don't have a choice at the SSTT to take the Deuce or the SDX. Only one will be there. The Deuce is only there from 12:30 to 9 AM when the SDX does not run. So take the SDX from the SSTT.
Hopefully, you have not gone yet.
