    My Trip Report

There have been so many great live TR lately I'm rather intimidated. But, I am go solo and don't want to rub it in to my Vegas going friend who couldn't go because of a graduation. So I'm going to share with Iike minded people who can roll their eyes when they read it and I will never know.

It will be fairly boring compared to most. I'm writing this as a public service to assist those with insomnia.

I go almost every year at this time for my birthday. I am not fond of birthday parties and all the hoopla so I do what I want and avoid the pointy hats. This is the big 60 so I'm doubly mortified. But we are all getting older at the same rate so I guess I'm relatively no older than anyone else. (Don't argue, its helping me cope).

8:30AM flight Tues, arrive at 12:30. Three nights comp, hoping to buy a reasonable upgrade. Two buffets courtesy of myVEGAS. Not a fan of buffets but am a fan of free. Damn freeplay is off the table. Also have myVegas Love ticket. I've seen it before but not for years. Will stick close to home and just gamble and eat. I eat very healthfully at home and behave myself by pretending to be a wine snob. Carbs, booze and general crap food are almost as exciting as the gaming. I actually packed potato chips. I'm looking forward to tons of gambling, having a prolonged buzz and eating bad food. I actually think I had the same goals on almost every birthday since 21. At least I'm consistent.

I've been obsessed for months. I just started a digital decorating business after being outsourced from corporate America and spent the past month making things for myself rather than for sale. Oops. I'm attaching some pics.

I hope to update nightly but no promises. Not a great picture taker but will try.

I've been seeing where people are still getting myVEGAS free play even when using an mlife offer. I am going to try it in July. Of course my offers never include free play and I am only getting 2 of 4 nights comped. I have a few years left to hit 60. I take joy in knowing my husband hits it a year and a half before me.

2 drinks down on 40 minute flight. Watch out liver. Haven't flown delta in a while. They made me a now defunct sky breeze cocktail. Vodka,Fresca and a splash of cranberry. Refreshing and better than boring screwdriver. At the gate in atl. Seriously, delta? From the last gate at b to the last gate at a. Already swelling from the salt and booze. Don't care.

Saw a restaurant I haven't seen before as I try to avoid Atlanta if I can. Getting tired of celebrity chefs. IMG_1941.JPG

Thank you all for the kind words and well wishes!

    I preface this with:
    1. I'm extremely greatful for all the wonderful opportunities I have in Vegas
    2. I seem to not get smarter as I get older and don't think ahead.

ATL-LAS flight was slightly disappointing. Taken that flight many times and the service was lack luster in First. I should have arrived with a buzz, but they only came around twice. Yes, I could ask for more, but I am used to more service on a 4 hr flight. Pics of my Asian Meatball meal to follow. There was a couple on the bulkhead that seemed to be pretty miffed that the FAs were not policing the people who used the first class bathroom. They did make an announcement after take off but didn't kick anyone out. I was afraid this couple was going to take matters in their own hands and trip people coming down the aisle.

Omni pick up with my driver Brian was great. We rode up and down the strip a few times chatting and he offered to stop several places, even the sign. I tipped him $25 upon arrival. He said to me, "the tip is already included". How sweet. I insisted he take the cash.

Asked for an upgrade at check in - fountain view, any suite. They offered a penthouse for $250/night. Yikes! Was told that was all they had with a view. We looked over a few other options and then they asked if I would bite for $225. Ummm., OK. Then I start getting excited and can't wait to get to the room. She comes back. oops, the front desk mgr just gave that suite to an angry guest. My heart dropped. Then I asked for one near the VIP elevators. I said I'd wait. She came back 15 mins later with a Bellagio Suite for $150. I've had that before. It's nice. It wasn't ready but that was fine. She said I could use the VIP elevators, 29th floor. Well, I think we had a communication problem. This room at the BFE....the very end of the hall, opposite of the VIP elevators. She probably thought I meant just the top floor, where you need to use a key to get to the floor. I meant the elevators near the lobby. I called down to see if anything else was available. Nope. Only real problem with this room is there is the ledge just below the window that sort of blocks the view. It is also lit. Then I realize I wasn't spending much time here tonight, I'm at a show one night, so not in the room 2 of the 3 nights......what did I need a fountain view suite for? I'm used to spending more time in the room. Oh well, I'm loving it anyway.

Got into the casino frenzy waiting for the room to be available and lost almost half my slot stake. I swear I get in a trance and cannot stop that first day. It was fun though. Lots and lots and lots of misses but a few good hits.

Ordered from Prime Now, a few snacks, water and Diet Coke. Great service. It isn't cheap, but not as expensive as most. I used a $10 coupon and they suggested a $5 tip. Ordered at 4:30, it arrived at 6:30.

Too wired to sleep but have been awake way too many hours.

Delta's version of Asian Meatballs. When I chose that over the cold Mexican Chicken Salad the FA said "You do like to take chances, don't you?" She must know something.

Dog in a bag was not on my bingo card. Maybe next time.

I love gourmet food as much as the next guy but the food at the snack bar is what I crave in Vegas. That is traditionally my first meal. It was the only way to get the taste of that Asian meatball lunch out of my mouth.

White pizza, Korean BBQ wings and a Diet Coke. $25.

Well to be fair, I would have thought Asian meatballs might have been a safer choice than Mexican chicken salad...lol

    Nice pics so far!
