    My Trip Report

The trip - Thursday June 24th - Sunday June 27th

The event - my best friends bachelor party

The participants - Me, the Bachelor, my tall friend, the bachelors brother-in-law, and the bachelor's future brother-in-law. The sixth partipant now lives in San Diego

    Day 1 - Thursday June 24th

5 of us flew from Toronto, Canada, and met our friend from San Diego at the Vegas airport. Flight was with Jetsgo, a Canadian discount airline. Discount airline means uncomfortable and cramped, but cheap. They have no free snacks or drinks. Even pop, water and juice cost money. Since we had to pay anyways, we just started drinking beer for a few bucks extra. Every time an attendant walked by, one of us ordered something. It made a long flight much shorter, which was important, since I'm 6'2, and my buddy is 6'5, and neither of us fit very well in our seats. The flight took off 8:15 Toronto time, and even though it was over 4 hour flight, we arrived at 10 o'clock with the time difference. We took the shuttle to Terminal 1, met our S.D. friend, and went to the Flamingo check-in. It was still open, but there weren't any double bed rooms available. They told us to go to the Flamingo and try there. Took 2 cabs to the Flamingo. We tried to get all 6 in 1 cab, but the driver refused. In fact, we tried this all weekend, and only twice did they let us put 6 in at once.

Once at the Flamingo, we were lucky that the line-up was short. I hit the counter after about 10 minutes. I slid my credit card and a $20 to the woman, and asked for a free upgrade. She said no problem, and looked for 2 mini-suites with double beds that were close together. She could only find rooms with 1 king bed, and they could give us a roll-away. I took 2 of those, and our rooms were side by side on the 27th floor, pool view. Funny thing was, she slid the $20 back to me, which was an amazing start to the Flamingo [IMG] !!!

We settled in the room about 11 or so, and started drinking right away (we had picked up 7 bottles of booze at the duty free). I actually had my first glass of Red Bull (with a healthy dose of Vodka). Red Bull isn't legal in Canada. It rocked!!! Wandered through the casino, then headed to the Barbary Coast ($1 drinks all the time) We gambled a bit, I lost $40 in about 10 minutes playing blackjack. Drank some more...at a bit after 2 or so, my S.D. friend recommended we go to the Rio. He had seen some cute girls there last time. Unfortunately, since we're pretty new to Vegas, and incredibly drunk at this point, we don't make it there until 4. By this point, everything is closed. All the guys save for me, the bachelor, and S.D. are mad as hell at this point. As for myself, I didn't really care. We knew we couldn't walk all the way back though, so we searched for a cab. We got lost in the back, and eventually found an elevator to the main level. We got in, and a very unattractive girl followed. She look at S.D. and commented on his lip ring. My other buddy, 6'5, "thats nothing, you should see his cock ring". She says "ok, I'll show you my nipple rings if you show me your cock ring". We all get off the elevator, and S.D. hangs back a bit. She pulls her top down, and shows him her chest. He does not show her anything, and jogs to catch up laughing like crazy. He doesn't have a ring down there anyways (or so he says, I don't really know). We finally find our way to a cab, and we get a ride to the Flamingo. 3 guys went up to bed, and S.D., the bachelor and me went to some dive behind the Barbary Coast for $2.50 hotdogs and beer.

We finish those, then take a cab to the Spearmint Rhino, arriving at 5 or so. This was our best decision of the night. The place was pretty empty, and we were the only 3 on Tipper's Row. Since we're all from Toronto, we're not used to Tippers Row. For the strip joints we go to here, we call the front row Perverts Row, and we never give tips. After a bunch of dancers, we learn the error of our ways. One of the girls even starts yelling at me as she's leaving the stage, demanding we start tipping. From that point on, the dollars are flying!!! In fact, the rest of the trip, we cherished dollar bills. Most of the girls are hot...and we talk to quite a few. I eventually meet a well-endowed blonde beauty, and she takes me to the back room. She was quite friendly...we even discuss American politics. She was actually quite conservative and pro-Republican, which I found odd for somebody in her profession. After an hour or so, I head back to my seat, and meet up with my buddies. We finally leave the bar at 11 am. Being in the dark strip joint for 6 hours, the sun at 11 was blinding. We stumbled around for 15 minutes, unable to see a thing. We walk back to the Flamingo, but sleep isn't in the picture yet.

Stay tuned for art 2 (Friday June 27th)

Great start. Not too nitpick, but why is Red Bull illegal in Canada?

Its the high levels of caffeine and another stimulant called taurine. The Swedish National Food Administration issued a warning, saying 3 people died from drinking Red Bull (2 people mixed with alcohol, 1 from exercising too much). The Canadian food agency has therefore banned it, as have quite a few countries.
It seemed great for me though!!!

Ah, the days (20-plus years ago) of bachelor parties. I forgot how much fun they were. And we didn't even get to go to Vegas.
    Thanks for the memories.
