We made a quick two night trip to the Avi Casino just south of Laughlin.

Nothing really exciting to report except for the big yellow bugs hitting our windshield to/from there. When the yellow flowers start to bloom in the desert, the bugs are out in full force. I tried to get across the desert without using the washer but couldn't see. Ran out of windshield washer fluid and found many more bugs. Cars were pulled over on the highway pouring water and trying to clean them off. It was funny. Those 80 mph bugs really splatter.

The casino still has $1 craps with 3-4-5 odds, $2 BJ paying 3-2 etc. :nworthy:

Here is a picture of their beach. It's my favorite beach on the River.

Don...that "is" a gorgeous beach. Do they rent boats and or jet skies there? Looks like a pretty nice place...how far is that from Vegas anyway?

Thanks for posting:thumbsup: - Dino

They have a jet ski rental place in season, as for boats, I'm not sure. It's located about 20 miles south of Laughlin. The pool is fantastic and gambling is very good as far as low limits go. Check out the link:

Don,

That looks really nice. I am thinking day trip for S & M if there are boats to rent. How long is that from Vegas?

Boat rentals on the river are far and few between. Mostly jet ski rentals. You might be better to head to Lake Mead as a side trip to rent boats. Or, if you want to plan a larger outing during S&M, I can aquire a boat and have it waiting at Laughlin for us, and take a nice stroll down the river to the gorge and/or sandbar. My parents live on the river down in Lake Havasu and I can get their boat pretty much anytime. they'll even drive it up the river to be waiting for us. Laughlin isn't too far south of Vegas, then once you're on the river, it's just a real nice relaxing float down the river. With beer and all that, so might be good to have a ride back from Laughlin to Vegas :)

Hi Don,

Do you recall if they comp alcohol beverage there at Avi, I thought they still on Califorinia side?

The Avi is in Nevada. Free booze while gambling. They do allow smoking in the restaurants though.
