Aquariums room is nice. View of my raking garage with River to the left and some stores to the right. Requested the tower closest to the parking garage, California tower.

Hopefully your room's AC works better than the lobby's apparently! Good luck in Laughlin!

AC works fine. We're calling it an early night. Setting the alarm for 7 or 8 to make our way to the south rim.

Laughlin is nice but a totally different vibe than Vegas. It's crowded, has a lot more kids than I thought, and it's not nearly as lively as Vegas. I figured it wouldn't be as lively, but the crowds were a little unexpected. The nugget was my favorite casino this far here. We have been in Aquarius, Edgewater, Colorado belle, pioneer and the nugget. The golden nugget was the best casino vibe. Pioneer was cool, but with no pai gow, it's knocks it down a level for me.

Wife's in the shower, I will follow here. Then we're leaving the Aquarius for gas, breakfast, and the drive to the Grand Canyon. Gas is stupid high in this part of Laughlin so we're going to see where we can stop in another part of Laughlin, across the river, or along the way. We have about half a tank right now. Want to stop again and top it off in Williams or somewhere like that so we're good to go once we get there.

Gas is much cheaper in AZ, and there are some gas stations with good prices on 95 about 2 miles South of the Laughlin bridge.

Ended up getting gas in kingman and letting the wife take the wheel for a bit. Few pics from Laughlin this morning:

Just stopped for lunch in Williams. The car thermometer said 75 degrees.

I withheld comment as I'm far from an expert, and I haven't played in about a decade myself. I had to look it up as it looks to be a close play. The Wizard's "basic" strategy says to play QQQQW / 22. The "advanced" strategy says to split into QQ22W / QQ. Since 22 is a low pair and the queens are quite high. Crappy result though.

Yeah, I played it the way I did because I had won the bonus and felt like the 22 was safer but the QQ was kind of swinging for the fences. Kind of like when you have 2 pair and a flush, and you play a pair up top and a pair on the bottom instead of playing the flush with XY on bottom, and those kinds of hands.

Up at 4:30am to catch a sunrise at the Grand Canyon then head back to Vegas. Sunrise is scheduled for 5:40am and being a hunter, 30 mins before sunrise is considered "safe light" so we want to be there by then hoping the rays will do their thing before the sun actually peaks over the rim. Also, sunset yesterday was super crowded. I don't anticipate it being as crowded this morning but hoping to get down there early to secure a decent spot.

About to head back to Vegas with a breakfast stop and gas stop along the way. No plans for Vegas other than to have to plans. Will be checking in to Caesars this afternoon.
