I was just thinking today about how Atlantic City is having a really difficult time right now and I think I know exactly what the problem is. With my level of play, I can get five free nights any night of the week in Las Vegas at any CET property except Nobu. With that same level of play, I get four nights, but no Saturdays with mid-range rooms at Bally's and Harrah's but only Sun-Thur at Caesars AC. I get $200 of free play in Vegas and $35 of free play in AC. Meanwhile, all the local papers in NJ can talk about is how AC is making less than half the profits they made a decade ago, because people aren't coming anymore. I still go to AC once in a while because it's nearby when I want to get my game on, but like most people I prefer going to Vegas because they give me more for my gambling dollar. If AC really wants to survive, they need to address this problem, because a lot of people on the East Coast bypass them and just go to Vegas.
