Sorry, I just edited to indicate Eastside Cannery, not Arizona Charlie's. In a few days I have two conferences that I will be attending (tragic, I know) and have a Friday and Saturday night between the two. I am considering either Eastside Cannery or M Resort. I will have a rental car and share my pros/cons. Pro's for East Side would be close proximity to cheap craps and food on Boulder Hwy. Pro's for M would be a nicer location, room and pool. Negatives for Eastside would be not as nice of a property, smoky environment and just slightly more expensive. Negative for M is that it is a destination out in the middle of nowhere with little surrounding it. We will have a rental car and the two conference properties are Bellagio and Aria so I am looking forward to getting away from the strip for a while. Was going to stay downtown but it's Bike Fest so I am dumping my Golden Nugget reservation.

I really like M, that would definitely be my choice.

Definitely M. Great place, and not too far from GVR and the like.

your title still says Arizona Charlies.
In terms of hotel, M is way better.

Vic, Ardee and JeJas, thank you. I booked at the M. Unfortunately it will not let me update the title, just the content of the post. Looking forward to staying at M!

Wow ! Hard for me to believe the Cannery is more expensive than M. For me it would be a hard decision to leave the lower minimums and better odds but the M is so much nicer.

It seems that the mailers I get from Eastside Cannery usually show most weeknights at $39 and maybe $59 for weekends. Can't believe that The M would be cheaper than that...Other than that, I don't see how you can go wrong with a room at either. The rooms at Eastside Cannery are much nicer than you would expect..

I prefer the casino at M to Eastside Cannery.

Arizona Charlie's? I wouldn't stay there even if the rooms were free..

No doubt the M is the choice...like hamburger versus steak plus you can walk outside without the threat of crime or getting run over by a car.
