Trips to Las Vegas

First and probably only time staying in the sky suites for an upcoming trip. From my reading in general they can be anywhere on basically the top half of the hotel. But, specifically, does anyone know if the regular one bedroom penthouse is located on a specific floor or with a certain view? Youtube videos seem all over the place. I'd imagine the room faces toward the mountains or at least angled toward it on the back side but I really have no idea.

You’re right, they’re all over the place and the view is as described. The ones facing East (on the “front” of the property) are classified as Strip View.

Mine isn’t a strip view so I’d be on the back side somewhere. Guess it really matter if I’m looking at Cosmo or down toward park but I was just curious if there was a specific section these rooms were in.

You're more likely going to get a view of the mountains. Which isn't a bad thing. The Strip view at the Skysuites (other than the pano rooms) isn't that great due to the Veer towers

The main benefit of the strip view penthouses is they have steam showers while the Mountain View do not. Other than that agreed, the mountain view is in many ways better IMO.

Yeah, I was just talking about the view. I always prefer the room product with the steam shower!

Honestly, I’ve stayed in the sky suites many times and I would skip them. They’re not worth the extra. Personally, I would go with the regular tower and do a corner panoramic suite which is my absolute favorite room at the aria plus you have the whole end of the hallway to yourself. It’s almost like a deck because it has windows lol

You’ve been driving for too long, because that is nonsense!

This SS pano will always be superior, and this is a hill I’m willing to die on.

Lol maybe I haven’t stayed at that one. I know I’ve stayed multiple times in a one bedroom and a couple of times in a two bedroom with the kids and it just really didn’t float my boat. But that’s why they have a bunch of different room types.

Second that SS is a different level than any Tower Suite. For one the ceiling height is much higher at SS and the suite is much more luxurious.
In regards to the OP: 1BR will have west (away from the strip) between the 25 and 54th floor. Higher reduces some freeway noise but all are great.

Yeah I actually prefer lower floors. From videos I’ve seen some there are some rooms that are in the tower on the southwest side that only goes up about half as high as the rest of the hotel. I wonder if getting one of those that kind of faces Cosmo vs one that’s facing directly west will help mitigate some of the freeway noise.

Out of sheer curiosity is there a major difference between the one bedroom and one bedroom penthouse besides size?

That's a good question, and I'd have to call to confirm, but off the top of my head it's just sq. footage and a guarantee of a steam shower. I also think they're usually higher floors, as the 1-bdr SS start in the 20s, but I'm usually in the 40s or low 50s.
