    Final Morning:

So after I had showered etc, I lay on the bed for a while and regaled Mrs M on the previous 9 hours of gambling. I decided to head down to play a little more and to drop into the Casino Host on duty to see what she could do with some charge son the bill.

The IT system in the Aria was still down – so you could not get any TITOs from the machines – this probably saved me money as I couldn’t be bothered putting money into a machine and then having to hang around waiting for a slot attendant to make their way over to me (there were lights flashing all over the place with many disgruntled looking customers).

So onto the host office: We had received an upfront offer of 2 nights free with $150 in freeplay and $100 in F&B. We also received $80 on check in for extra F&B (as you may recall from earlier!).

I started the trip at Pearl status with zero Tier Credits and finished at Gold with 136,471. I moved to Gold by Saturday I think. Coin in $43,309.

Would be interested (and appreciative) to hear what people think the host gave me (if anything)………… (I might be better off putting this up as new thread?)

I will come back with some of my (and our) final thought on Aria etc (If anyone is interested J )

I'm interested to hear more! Aria is my go-to place!

Last August I had a trip to Aria with no upfront comps, other than casino rate room discount and some freeplay. I did about ~19k in coin-in and was able to get $125 comped off my room when I checked out. My notes don't say if that was food/beverage or if it was some resort fees or what. If I'm staying at Aria and not on comp nights I've been successful in getting at least something comped off the back end 100% of the time, but when I'm staying with upfront comp room I've only been successful 50% of the time getting back end comps, FWIW.

Re: up front comps. I read a thread on here about booking on the hotel’s website, rather than the overarching Mlife website. My wife and I are very small rollers, & have not been to Vegas since 2015. We got a great deal for this August in the Mirage booking through their site.

I know the mirage is not quite Aria standard, but the deal saved us more than the $125 @boxofbirds got comped off the back end.

    Final Thoughts:

We both had a great time but it was a little short for our liking – 5 nights is the quickest trip we have had together (I have had shorter with a few guys a couple of years back).

I really liked the Aria. Thought the VP at the bars, the drinks and the barstaff were all excellent. I liked the room - not at the standard of the Wynn but really comfortable. I had worried that the Casino might be too quiet as I had only been in it a few times over the years and it had always seemed soulless. I did not find that to be the case on the trip. The location is good, not as good as the Bellagio but I quite like NYNY. We don’t really stay South Strip so there was probably a bit of a novelty factor there for me.

Mrs M wasn’t as impressed. She liked the hotel but prefers the over the top opulence of the Wynn resorts to the more modern Aria, and she preferred the more themed feel of the Bellagio, Venetian/Palazzo. So, next time we go together we will most likely go back to the Bellagio.

Highlights of the trip were the marathon VP sessions on the first and last night, the slot and Craps wins on the last day and Carrot Top (way beyond any of our expectations – which were non existent to be fair).

Food was good in Aria Café, Lemongrass, In-N-Out Burger and Shake Shack. We both loved the atmosphere in Carbone but probably wouldn’t go back. We wer not impressed by Five50 pizza.

Neither of us enjoyed the ‘edibles’ experience as outlined earlier so we won’t be trying that again.

This was the most I have gambled on a trip - €43K coin in, and I liked moving to Gold and am not far from Platinum now.

The comps were ok – I thought we would have gotten more to be honest for the amount played. What we got in the end was:

    · 2 nights comped in a normal room

    · $150 Freeplay

    · $380 F&B (so an additional 200 after talking to Casino host office - (we had received any additional 80 at check-in above our original offer of $100)

Maybe we were over-comped - I can never tell, but we have received more on the back-end in the past at Bellagio. I had hoped that the Carrot Top tickets and the maybe an extra night would have been waived.

I am back a month now and I am as obsessed with Vegas as ever. Tentative plans to try my first solo-trip in September to get to Platinum and take advantage of the 4 free nights now on offer from Mlife (standard offer through mLife).

Thanks for following along and sorry for taking so long for getting the whole teip written up!

Nice report and a pretty good comeback! So when the system was glitching, you could still cash out at the bar? Or did you just leave your credits in there til it got fixed?

Depending on how much your play was divided up between slots and vp, I could see an extra 200 being about right.

I could get a Tito from the bar tops. Other machines you needed a hand pay.
