On my last trip in september I was drinking Stoli Elit without question in high limit at Mirage. I have found this to be the highest end vodka served complimentary.

I've had it comped at Lift Bar, although I'm on really, really good terms with the bartenders there. The first time I had it there was actually without even asking; after a couple cocktails I asked for a Stoli on the rocks, the bartender paused, went into a cabinet, pulled out a bottle, and goes, "How about this instead?"

It's great, though I only drink it on the rocks or in a martini. If I'm having a vodka soda or some other sort of mixed drink, it's just not worth it.

Even mixing it, you can tell the difference. Maybe we can compare it with other vodkas next week? :wink2:

It just seems like a waste to me, like using Perrier Jouet for a mimosa. I can tell the difference, it's just so negligible that I just don't know if I need to. And given that it's a special favor from the bar staff (given that I'm otherwise drinking craft cocktails at a main-floor video poker bar and playing $1, though max bet), I'd rather save it for drinking on the rocks where I can really appreciate it.

But a taste test is totally in order.

Any updates on this? I love the Aria, and I love sipping some Knob Creek while I play BJ. I don't usually do the HL room... but I'm happy playing at a $50 (or even sometimes $100) table. I keep reading that they'll only pour you Jim Beam now. Seems really stingy.

Are there other MGM casinos that still pour the good stuff for people who are betting $50 and up (and where there are still decent BJ rules on $50 and up tables)?

We were at the Mirage in late Oct and my favorite CW told me when I ordered a grey goose that they had switched to Kettle on the floor as their high end vodka so it may have been company wide

At the Mirage in July I asked for Chivas on the rocks while playing carps & was told just Johnny Walker. First time ever for that.

Stayed at Aria last week. Not really picky with my booze, but when i ordered a rum and coke, waitress asked me 'bacardi or captain morgan'. regardless, didnt play much there since ive found the drink service at Aria (both at tables and slots/VP...last year and this year too) to be severely lacking...and i always tip $5/drink. bellagio/cosmo/wynn has kick ass waitresses that come around often.

You really have to wonder about people who attack others for being generous. :rolleyes2:

No. Come to think of it, you don't have to wonder at all. It's pretty clear what type of person they are.
