This is not an important question, I'm just curious. We've stayed at Aria about 3 times a year for the last 4 years and every single time I've tried to checkout on the TV it never works. I started just checking out via text/web then on our last trip that didn't work either so I just called the tower suites lounge. This weekend we stayed in a Sky Suite (first time, VERY nice) and of course the text/web didn't work so I called the desk and they took care of it.

I'm not complaining really, it's no big deal to call down to the desk. I'm just curious if anyone else has successfully checked out via the TV? Is it just me or is the system just not functional, which if so begs the question why they even bother to offer it.

I had this same problem the time I stayed there and it was disappointing. The check IN process with was so easy, and the room and stay were so great then to not be able to use either the TV or the email link THAT THEY SENT ME was a bummer. I checked out around 3p too as I had late check out so it wasn't that the system was overloaded. Even so, these resorts should build in the capacity to handle everyone at 11a if that's going to be the check out time. Has happened to me at other MGM resorts too, kinda lame.

I used to have the same frustration, however the for the last 10 or so trips I just leave. No tv, no call, no desk visit, no app. No issues either, my receipt ends up in my email. I find this system works best for me and the property. No hassle for me or them.

That works at just about every hotel in the country. Always amazed when people stand in a long line just to leave. I do try to TV and it does not work, then goodbye. I never leave the keys in the room like they suggest. Anyone using those keys to enter the room will look like YOU used the them - in case something shows up missing. I just drop them in whatever box they have downstairs.

I was there last week(hated it) but didnt even try it, as usual i just went to the front desk there was no one in line and paid in cash

Never thought to just leave, I guess I'm too much of a goodie two shoes. However I to never go down to checkout, I also never drop the keys in the box. In the distant past some hotels encoded too much information on the keys, supposedly they don't do that anymore but why risk it. I always try to use the TV checkout and at almost every hotel except Aria it works. They have to know it doesn't work so why even have it if they don't fix it? They must get more grief from it not working than it just not being there.

BTW I thought it was funny this time when I called down and checked out within about 2 minutes of hanging up the room turned off. Every light went out, the sheer and blackout drapes closed etc. I've never had the room remotely shut down like that. I always assumed they did it after they cleaned the room.

wow that's funny. sounds like their technology works when they want it to.

I think that information on the key thing was a hoax.

Business hotels like Holiday Inn Express and Hilton Garden Inn will check you out and stick the invoice under your door around 4am.

Hotels in Europe expect you to check out at the front desk. Those hotels are not the size of Aria.

I just leave if the TV doesn't work. If you're worried about that, then just call them up and tell them you forgot to check out. No need to sit and wait in line just to tell them you're out of there.

We've never had a problem with checking out on the TV at Aria. If we did, I would go to the desk because, even though we rarely have a balance, hotels sometimes make mistakes and we find a room charge that we haven't made. Not at Aria, but at another hotel we once had a balance of several hundred dollars for phone calls that we didn't make.

Same thing's happened to me a few times. The other problem we had last trip was that the volume on the TV only went down to level 15, which was fairly loud. (We sometimes like to just have music on while we're getting ready to head out or go to bed.)

We love Aria--it's becoming our go-to spot, actually, thanks to reasonable prices for a near-luxury experience--but the technology seems to be only about 90-95% functional.

I usually check check my folio but rarely check out from any hotel.
I stay in hotels over 60 nights a year and can't remember having a problem.

While I have often had problems with checking out using the TV, I have never had any issues at Aria. I may have been lucky!

I just leave myself. I never pay for a hotel room so if there are any charges at all (I don't use the mini bar either) I'll just dispute it with Capitol One. Never had an issue though!

We always go to the concierge check-out and try to press for additional comps, depending upon how much we've played/lost. It works rarely, but I guess it always seems like it's worth a try. Their in-room check out has always been useless for us, as the system isn't particularly responsive and has been buggy.

If TV check out doesn't work and it hasn't for the last few years and I don't have any room charges so leave the keys by the maids tip and leave. Never a problem.
