Plenty of activity on folks heading to Vegas. How about other travel? Do you have anything planned in the immediate/near future?

We're going to the north coast in a few weeks, Bodega Bay to be exact. We're gonna pack our bikes and our clubs, our beach shoes, and just chill for a few days. Hopefully there's no Hitchcock reunion planned.

I'm dying to go somewhere, anywhere, but I'm also at higher risk (as is my wife), so we're stuck at home for the foreseeable future.

Nothing at all, I'm afraid. Even if the US/Canada border is opened, I can't say I really want to go to the US at all. Until infection numbers begin to slow down, I'm generally considering it a no-go, especially in high-tourism areas to include Vegas.

My #1 priority trip-wise is to head to Windsor, ON as I'm considering moving there. Aside from simulating what day-to-day life would be like there, I do want to explore a bit of the surrounding area too, which I haven't spent much time in.

I'm also considering taking this as an opportunity to do a bit more domestic travel. I'd certainly like to see some of BC/AB... and out east I'd like to see the maritimes, I haven't been out that way since I was in the first grade. Visiting Saint Pierre and Miquelon is very much of interest too.

For now it will remain status quo in Toronto, it seems.

I've got nothing on the radar, but I've been kind of preoccupied lately. :)

We were talking about doing something for Dan's birthday later this month, but I haven't been able to plan anything yet. It may end up being a day trip instead.

We usually escape to a rental condo on the coast, but right now they are requiring 5 nights and both of us teleworking can't rely on their terrible shared internet for that many days. If we could be away from the computers for a week though... *sigh* it would be so wonderful to have nothing to do but read books and walk on the beach for a week.

Booked a trip to Biloxi for tomorrow but decided to cancel for now. It wouldn't be the same.

So, going no where and having some company visit later this week.

Right now Vegas in July is the only thing I have tickets booked for. I usually swing by Texas (Houston or Austin) a couple of times a year to visit college roommates. Miami is also on my list this summer/fall for a few nights as for something new (been there a few times, but never solo) to try, just to chill by the pool/beach. Might end up being a light travel year for me.

I wish I could go somewhere, but due to my rosy opening her hair salon is super busy and she is at high risk since she is in direct contact.
I just can't see myself going anywhere without a vaccine.

We may just go somewhere far alone together.

We just booked the same house in Costa Rica for February that we’ve had for five years. They changed their cancellation policy to full refund up to two weeks before arrival. It used to be no refund for any reason. My DW is high risk and she’s barely ok with it. I guess “soon” is a relative word but I’m glad to have something, anything, on the books.

Isn't that Rod Taylor in a convertible driving down the road with Tippie Hedren...and those birds...they look menacing.

Otherwise, looks like quite a short Par 3. Maybe a pitching wedge or 9-iron at best.

    150 from blues. I hit 8-iron into a breeze. It's a crazy-ass course. Very quirky.

Nope. Not until next year. And my wanderlust is suffering. Badly. :(

Vegas in July. But hoping to do a quick getaway close by once IN casinos open up. Latest they are saying is July 4th but hoping it happens sooner.

    Otherwise nothing really planned.

I just moved close to the Rockies and enjoyed a staycation last week. This view is about 30 minutes from home. I actually can’t wait to take another week or two off this summer to do some more exploring close to home. I feel very fortunate to have this destination to look forward to.

We were supposed to have a family trip to Germany and Austria in November. That looks highly unlikely at the moment. I really would like to take a trip somewhere in the next year. Even if it's somewhere quiet to lay on the beach for a week. I'm not sure how likely that will be.

That is fuckin' gorgeous! Thank you for sharing.

Vegas is on my radar for July, and maybe August for a late birthday celebration or something. Biloxi is on the calendar for next week.

I just returned from a trip. Drove down to St. Simons Island, Ga for a nice relaxing week on the beach. I was by my lonesome, so it wasn’t terribly exciting: mostly just beer, food and walking the beach. But the change of scenery certainly did me some good.

I mostly stuck to carry out for food but I did dine in a few times. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the take out meals I had as well as the hygiene/safety procedures and practices I observed at the restaurants where I dined in.

I happened upon a local brewery about a 10 minute walk from the condo. So, I stocked the fridge with a few growlers and spent most afternoons with a cold one (or four) on the porch.
