I was going to leave this alone, but there are so many insane things we do, "just to be safe".

Cellphones: They go nuts saying they must be turned off. Do you really think all those phones in pockets, briefcases, purses are turned off? No way. Yet, planes are not falling out of the sky.

Water through TSA. There was no problem until somebody ATTEMPTED to do something. Yet, anyone with half a brain knew there were still lots of ways to get liquids through the checkpoint. But, if you or I want to take out toothpaste - no freakin way.
    ....

The security show is for the sheep. Testing shows tons of stuff still get through.

I began reading this topic with interest as I am very new to casino's / gambling / god-forbid I don't want to do anything I am not supposed too. I however am teaching myself how to be a better blackjack player and have been referring to those little cards that suggest based on whats in play.... Well, in the effort not too upset anyone I NEVER pull out my phone/cards nothing in the casino..

While at Hardrock - Seminole (Tampa) last weekend I was observing some players at a virtual dealer BJ table - one man was using his phone, it was an app that was obviously tips and tricks... he was up by $495 / $10 bets. I thought wow??? your allowed to use those - very cool!!! and he was... and boy he won.... interesting???

Not really. The video blackjack games generally shuffle the cards every hand, so using is Iphone to count the cards would do him any good. He probably was just checking basic strategy, which you can do at a regular table (but not with your Iphone, just with a card.)
