Are there any Biloxi casinos that tier match TR Diamond?

    My Trip Report

I will be a first time visitor to Biloxi next month. Doing 4 nights at Harrahs Gulf Coast! I'm wondering who, if anyone, knows of other casinos in the area that match your TR status (Diamond) .

Plus any info that you can give me on Harrahs Gulf Coast...
A -Craps tables at Gulf Coast (ie side bets like fire bet ..all small tall make em all...etc). and weekly (mon-fri) limits. Ditto for Pai gow!
    B- Poker room i e low limit game frequency...promos during the week....etc
C- Your opinion of their buffet and/or other food choices at Gulf Coast

    Thanks in advance

I have seen Hard Rock do some matches - but rare. Another casino further down the coast was matching freeplay offers at one time. We went in there with $500 plus in FP - got out coupons, played it down to $400 cash and ran.

not in biloxi, just a short drive off the coast in D'Iberville, Scarlett pearl card matches...golden nugget, walking distance from harrahs may card match, not 100% sure though (vegas location does)

harrahs gulf coast is very small, not a bunch of tables and if its slow, they dont open several...the diamond lounge is small but two great bartenders in there...we usually end up by the pool/hot tub...food is limited at the property, buffet is alright, only had on the weekends, but it now has limited hours and days open...they did open a beach resturant called Blind tiger, supposed to be good but I havent tried it yet

If you are wanting to play live poker, you will have to leave Harrah's Gulf Coast. For me,the two best rooms are at the Beau Rivage (M-Life) and the IP (Boyd). Both of them usually have the most tables open and almost always have low (3-6 or 4-8) limit tables running. The Golden Nugget is closer (as NOS said, it is walkable) but I haven't played in their poker room so I can't offer a lot of advice on it.

The Bellisimo Spa at Gulf Coast. Do Diamonds have free access to spa facilities??

I wouldn't recommend the Golden Nugget or Hard Rock poker rooms at all. The IP room is probably my favorite due to solid promos and usually fun tables (I play 4-8 limit). The 12:00 tourney at the Beau isn't bad, but plan on 3-4 hours if you happen to make the final table. The Scarlet Pearl has a nice room, but it's been dead every time I go by. (And the Pearl will indeed match your tier status.)

To answer your buffet question, the only one in Biloxi I really like is the Beau Rivage. The IP and Harrah's offer free buffets each month, and I still won't eat there. At Harrah's, you're better off at Mix and Mingle or the Blind Tiger.

Other dining choices: McElroy's next to the Beau for breakfast, Half Shell Oyster House inside the Hard Rock or their original location downtown, Ole Biloxi Schooner has great po-boys but it moved closer to I-10, and Rosetti's is close by and also has good po-boys. For Cajun food, Cafe New Orleans in D'Iberville (just over the 110 bridge) is pretty good.

Scarlet Pearl no longer matches. Just got an email response back from host Mike Chapman "To answer your question below; unfortunately, we do not match tiers here at Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort. In our first year of opening, we matched our local gulf coast casino competitors offers as well as tier match. However, we would like for you to come in and enjoy our establishment."

    May still check them out!

Thanks Cmani. I'm a serious eater at least once a day, so a good buffet is a must! From looking at a map of Biloxi casinos, it looks like the Beau is a stones throw (5,000 ft) from Harrahs? I've actually looked up the Blind Tiger (in front of Gulf Coast?) and Mix and mingle (inside Gulf Coast) online.

I'm a sucker for Poker room promos. So Looks like i'll take the trek across town to IP if Gulf Coast doesn't fill the bill!

It's kinda like the Strip where the casinos appear closer until you walk to them. The same applies here: it's actually about a mile and a half from Harrah's to the Beau. I've walked it before, but I usually get an Uber now (which Biloxi does have).

I'm surprised the Pearl refused to tier match. They matched mine well after the one year anniversary passed.

I'm driving so beau will see me. Def some nice promos at IP (I especially like the cracked Aces for up to 200). Golden Nugget has a couple also as does Beau. Interesting to see poker room squares and its not football season!

I have been to Biloxi about 50 times since 2000 and will be there 30 July till 2 August. at the Beau Since you have wheels, there should be little problem getting around to the various casinos (no parking charge like Vegas). Beau and IP have nice poker rooms although that isn't my thing. Harrah's is a shell of what it used to be before Hurricane Katrina carried away the barges that the casino was built on. They moved the casino into a area that was formerly the hotel lobby and enlarged it a bit. Still cramped and the VIP lounge area is small too. Many hosts hang out there so it makes that part a bit better.

You can check for promotions at this site http://www.redstardigital.net/lib/JackpotSouth/current/index.html

Further down south a few miles along the beach road in Gulfport there is another casino Island View which may be worth your time.
Another is more inland is Hollywood in Bay St Louis which has a poker room and some poker promotions. A final one along the beach is Silver Slipper in the same area.

Appreciate the inside baseball. Gonna look up island view, Hollywood ( marquee property?) and Silver Slipper now!
    Thanks flyguy!

Best thing about Harrah's is Steak and Shake in the casino! Actualy, Magnolia House restaurant is excellent. For upscale dining, go to Mary Mahoney's Old French House. It's worth the trip to the coast just to eat there and its right across from Beau.

If you enjoy hitting buffets, we have always enjoyed the Hard Rock buffet. Hard Rock is next door to the Beau Rivage. BTW- a slight addition to FlyGuy's information. After Katrina, Harrah's Gulf Coast moved the biggest part of their casino into what was the convention center before the storm. They did a re-design/re-model of the casino floor a year or so ago and to me, it was nice improvement. It is still small but somehow seems more spacious than before.
