That's the exact situation I am in. 12000+ gems. Level 0 and 1000 crowns. 1 billion coins.

Will cost $24.99 x 10 coin purchases giving 27000000 coins and 1999 crowns each, plus a handful more crowns earned from play to reach level 3. $250! Not sure if that is USD or CAD; if its 250USD that is $333CAD.

If that's the case, I will be happy to delete the app and dump my account and never venture to the north strip and stay and play at the Wynn ever again, instead continuing my stays at Bellagio, Aria, and Mandalay Bay with MyVegas redemptions.

Mlife properties have been good for my last dozen or so trips. No sense in stopping that if Wynn is screwing us over.

Shhh or they will fix that bug and change it to a 15%+ increase in gems required.

I was actually intending to try to start a relationship with Wynn. I have 6 free nights booked at Paris (Diamond so no RFs). I figured I would spend the $50 (approx) I needed yet and stay a night at Wynn. Give them enough play to try to get on their own radar for comped rooms (which is what I EXPECT they want to have occur). However I will be d*mned if I will spend $188 (I figure I can probably get 15 a day) to go to level 3 - currently at 1 - to try out a hotel room I do not need, plus gambling funds to try to build a future relationship.

For someone who is going to Vegas with no other relationships, the $200 is still a good investment (although do a majority of these people even see it/know it? They aren't Vegas junkies like we are). If I weren't comped at another NICE location, and had to pay to stay at a hotel on/off Strip or the Motel 6, then it would be a no brainer. But for the Vegas junkie who goes frequently and is already comped or heavily discounted at their home properties, this is a bait and switch to me - especially with the timing. Right now the only way I would pay them that is if I wanted an escape to Vegas and didn't want to damage my ADT at CET props or if for some really odd reason I couldn't get a comp room.

That’s pretty much my line of thinking too. I have two nights booked, and was going to see what kind of teasers I could earn, but now think I’ll just move all that play back to CET

What I really don’t understand about this update is that it seems to punish the casual players much more than the super-users who were borderline abusing the app.

It now basically costs $200/quarter to get any free hotel nights at Wynn. But this $200 cost is the exact same whether you just started playing and are grinding your bankroll to earn a single two night stay, or whether you have a trillion-chip bankroll and can virtually live free at the Wynn by immediately spinning back up to max chips after every reservation.

It would seem much more reasonable to limit the app by more steadily increasing the gem earn rate beyond the current cap, or perhaps by capping hotel stays by VIP level like they do for buffets.

I agree with some of your thoughts. Capping stays to once every 30/60/90 days would have been a decent idea. Seems like right now you can book your next 4 nights even before you checkout on your last day.

I got the exact same email. Not too excited about them adding "more exciting new features and rewards shortly." Bracing myself....

Maybe an email to Ramesh Sadhwani directly at the Wynn Vegas might be more effective.

Glad I booked my rooms before this happened. I screwed myself by not booking before the VIP level update happened. Got this one booked in time though. That'll probably be it for me with this app. I just went broke on it too, so not that upset.

The VIP point amounts as they currently are make zero sense. Might as well sell people a membership to book rooms that lasts 90 days, there’s zero way of maintaining levels now. I’m still hoping it’s a glitch and they rectify it

Well this seems all very sad. Sure it’s their game and they can do what they like with it but they have made an awful lot of it to be fairly pointless in the wider Vegas scheme of things. I was grinding my way towards level 3 and I looked like making it but now it’s not possible without a decent investment but I lack faith that it won’t be negatively changed again when I would be looking to book for December. I have used the free rooms once last year and spent significantly in the casino as I do with my stays but I don’t really generate offers from the Wynn due to my wife constantly going to the fashion mall every day and I usually escort her there until I get bored and pop over to the win for a slow play and a cocktail until she arrives and we move on to our base hotel area and this affects my ADT I assume. There may well be a silver lining in terms my time and not bothering if miss any events

The one bonus from this is I’ll no longer bother playing all day to try and up my crown count to move up a VIP level. This has saved me loads of time and effort in that respect.

For me now it’s all about bankroll and earning the extra 1200 gems I need for a two person buffet. Already (luckily) got my 4 nights booked so once I’ve got the buffet reserved, that’s my lot. There’s no incentive to ‘earn’ rewards as you basically can’t - you have to spend consistently to get any form of comp which completely defeats the object.

The thing that really pisses me off though is the disgraceful crown ‘awards’ they’ve now changed to. TWO (down from 50) if you complete a Gold scratcher game. SIX (down from 180) for a Platinum scratcher - especially after you’ve had to spend on over 1,000 spins to get there. ONE (down from 100) for the wheel spin bonus. That’s a gigantic middle finger at everyone who plays this game, including those who have spent good money on it.

Back I go to MyVEGAS Slots. Even with their silly limits on ‘Premium’ rewards at least there’s enough chance to get comps / discounts without having to spend to get them.

While this might be an overall trend it certainly isn't the case for many. I have never set foot in the Wynn but tend to spend my money where I stay because I take naps during the day and when I get up, just walk down to the floor, sit my ass down and play. Currently, I stay with MGM properties exclusively because in large part to the MyVegas app. I give them some cash for a room, pay the resort fees, but each trip I seem to get about a couple hundred in benefits between free play and buffets. There is no level I need to be at or pay each quarter to maintain the level. They reward people who have paid cash in game with extra perks. Granted, over time they have removed some rather awesome rewards, but they still offer some greats tuff to people who play casually and are going to stay in Vegas.

With this change you can bet my play on the Wynn app will be reduced only to collecting the daily bonuses and I will not set foot in the casino on this trip as I was planning on doing. If the company is willing to screw over people who have paid money in game then they don't deserve any dollars from me on their physical property.

Here's a post I'm sure I'll be sorry for making......

I think this is not only a case of YMMV, but a case of Your Mileage WILL Vary.

    1. If you are someone who was getting something for nothing when the app was first introduced and then got upset when you had to spend a little money to book a room at a premium property then you are probably steaming at the current situation. You have no right to be, nobody owes you free anything in this world. Why not be happy you got what you got and move on? Nobody at The Wynn or the app itself are going to care if you take your (non paying) business elsewhere.

    2. If you (like me) get some comps from another property (MGM in my case) and have to pay the resort fees each night then this is no worse than a push as my next four night stay was going to cost me roughly $200 no matter where I stay. While I do see The Wynn as a nicer property than Mandalay Bay (and I like the location better) I wouldn't pay the extra price to stay there without rewards from the app. In my exact situation I was going to have to spend $30 next month to get to level 2 and book my four nights for August. Now, assuming the 15% gem discount stays, I'm going to have to pay $130 for those same four nights but I will get two buffets as well. Do I think the two buffets are worth the extra $100? Certainly not, but overall I do feel four nights at the Wynn and two buffets are absolutely worth the $130 I'll spend. I will spend it and say thank you. It will likely be my last free stay at The Wynn as gems are very slow to earn at level 110+ and the cost involved probably doesn't justify all the time involved in the app to get those rewards, probably, we'll see.

    3. If you are someone who has spent money in the app recently with the expectation of getting to level 2 and booking a room soon then you have a right to be upset, a little. Given that no notice was given around exactly what the change would be and how drastic it would be you likely wasted those dollars spent. At the very least you will have to spend significantly more than you thought you would and I don't think that's just ok. Some kind of notice, at least to people who spent real dollars in the game, should have been given.

All in, I hope everyone is still appreciative that we can get stays at a premium property for a significant discount, even if they are no longer free.

    YMMV......

Myvegas screwed over just as many, they are just farther removed from the devaluation an restrictions they put on.

If you look at it as pure dollars in dollars out, I would argue that even today a Wynn slots player could do better than a myvegas one, because the rooms are nicer and you can still do up to 4 nights and tons of buffets. Now it would take a larger purchase to unlock those rewards, but a couple hundred for 4 nights at Wynn and some buffets is still better than 150 in resort fees for 3 nights at mirage on more limited dates, with one buffet and some free play.

The difference is mainly that the change is still new and raw, so people have valued their gems and the deal on offer at the old rate.

Some will get mad and write off Wynn for good. Happened to myvegas too. Some won't be mad but won't find it worthwhile anymore. But once Wynn slots finds its sustainability point, there will still be many playing, paying some and earning rewards.

I don’t think you need to be sorry for how you feel. We all probably have some level of resentment about the changes, but we are kidding ourselves if we thought it would continue to be as easy as it was to obtain the “freebies” from the game. The game dynamic has changed so it’s a matter of spinning to earn gems rather than obtaining crowns. It’s now a play at your own time and pace rather than a specific schedule to achieve those crowns.

I came into the game early on and collected a 4-night free stay before the VIP levels were introduced. I wondered back then how they could offer such luxury for nothing? Then came the VIP levels and changed how I played the game but making me play during certain timeframes rather than at my leisure. This new change lets me go back to my leisure with the only difference now that I have to pay (at a discounted rate from full cost) to redeem the room reservations. Is it a bummer? Yes. Am I going to trash the game? Not at this time.

Maybe I don’t have such a critical view since I visit Vegas maybe once a year. I’m not getting all kinds of comp offers all over the valley, so I will gladly take any discounts that I can. I do get offers from Boyd since they are my closest local that I enjoy. I also have some comp offers at Red Rock that I will be using. The wife absolutely enjoyed our time at Wynn so we will eventually make it back to stay again. Whether that is play and some pay through the game, or full pay directly from the hotel remains to be seen.

I’m thinking this was more of a “cleansing” to get rid of (for lack of a better term) freeloaders who expect a comped stay at Wynn for nothing. We paid resort fees during our stay because we opted in mostly for the WiFi, gambled some on property, and also had some drinks too. When it comes for our next trip and I can get us 4 (or more nights) and only have to spend $200, it will be worthwhile to me so the wife is happy; and, it’s still cheaper for me than staying at other hotels around town.

My feeling on this is that Wynn has acted in very bad faith.
They are perfectly entitled to make whatever changes they choose to make to their app, however to make these changes during (and towards the end) of their 90 day eligibility period is just wrong. Any changes that they wish to make should be implemented at the end of the current 90 day period in which people have invested, believing that they knew the rules. It is quite simply changing the rules of the game whilst the game is in play rather than before it starts which is deeply unethical if not illegal.

I do not know whose jurisdiction if any this app would fall under, but I can imagine what the Gaming board would say if Wynn suddenly reduced the payouts on a roulette game once the ball was spinning or, on a 3/2 game, once the cards had been dealt decided your blackjack only paid even money. Even CET, mlife and bConned rewards know better than to change their programs and rewards mid year and make their changes with some advance warning.

If this marketing/rewards platform was not financially viable, the far simpler, acceptable and profitable way to improve it from their viewpoint was to charge resort fees on all free nights. Players would have considered this to be reasonable and would not have led to the outrage displayed on social media and the rendering of the game almost unplayable especially from a new players standpoint. This is a prime example of marketing a brand well, and then destroying all the goodwill and recognition that you have developed with a senseless decision.

After reading the posts on this topic, I am beginning to realise that this could be a blessing in disguise.

    Why do I say this?

The purpose now is to accumulate gems instead of VIP points so I don’t feel under any pressure to take part in an event, or even if started to complete an event.

I can now spin in my own time, when and where I want and not have my devices inconveniently tied up for long periods.

The whole point of the Wynn app has changed and puts the user in control and it still provides the opportunity to spend 4 nights at the Wynn for a bargain price. OK it may work out more than the rack rate for nights at other casinos but Wynn is not just another Casino!

Embrace the changes and make it work for yourself. There are few places better to stay than the Wynn imho.

But at that point, what's the point of even having crowns to begin with? If by playing 24/7 and getting every last gem, you might save yourself... a few dollars? What's the point of them even introducing the system, if it's going to be close to worthless to bother with. That's what really gets me.

Now there won't be so many server errors and never ending spinning reels while playing. :wink2:
I'm just here for the buffets. Have 106 days to use my gems.
