There are players who exploited the EM bug to the absolute max; earned hundreds of billions of coins, maxed out their gem counts and booked multiple rooms and multiple buffets on multiple accounts, and then maxed out their gem counts again, and I'm sure a few did it a third or fourth time.

This will level the playing field for everyone once everyone's level reverts to zero. Only those who cheated the system to max their accounts will be the only ones who have any reason to pay to maintain their VIP level. Everyone else will walk away from the game and it will likely fold soon after.

I highly doubt we will see a calendar update for fall room dates.

I never got involved in it, but was pleased for everyone that managed to get some nice stays out of it. Was ironic that I was actually chilling at the Wynn while it was all going on, lol.

I've probably spent about $600, but I've had 8 nights already, and going to get another 8 before I'm done. I was starting to think there must be something wrong with me when I saw the Facebook page, as I just can't get bent out of shape over stuff like this.

Hopefully it's a coding error, and if not, I might not get the other 8 nights... I think my status lapses before I check out from my 4 in the summer. Maybe I can juggle my rooms about to fix that, and maybe not. I'll worry about that in a few weeks when I'm closer to restarting my VIP cycle, anyway :)

Is there no Level 2 any more? That seems a bit weird.

If you click the 'VIP Profile' tab off the level icon at the top, it still shows 0-1-2-3-4-5 on the 'Benefits' tab.

I was not one of those who exploited the EM bug, but have been plugging away for over a year now. First they made all my gems near worthless by arbitrarily assigning me to a low level where I could not book rooms and couldn't even get a buffet since it was still "coming soon", and then when I buy more coins by popping piggy banks as I work my way to level 2, they change the rules mid-stream.

If they rolled out a really bad game without beta-testing it first, that is on them. They could claw the winnings back, or remove the game until it is fixed. Saying nothing for 2 months and then changing the levels needed for booking is not a good remediation to their self-imposed foot shooting. Many of us who didn't exploit their glitches, have to now pay to get to an even higher level, or quit and throw away all the time invested.

I get it, it is a game, but all games have some rules, and their track record, is to change them so it inflicts the most damage to those who played fairly. Maybe I am a sucker, and 'fool me twice' that's on me, but when they came up with the idea to roll out new game rules, which they have the right to do, and most everyone assumes it is a glitch, cause nothing can be that bad - then maybe your new idea was really, really bad.

I presume this game was meant to attract more players to their casino, especially gambling addicts and those who would play slots endlessly chasing some hard to reach payout, and maybe it worked too well. But if the house pulls the rug out from under these people too many times, eventually they turn against the house, and vote with their feet to go elsewhere. We'll see what the backlash is like....

Very well said. Couldn't have mirrored my feelings more.

By allowing people to play these apps, whether it be Myvegas, Wynn or Binions, etc. the game provider is largely paying to have uninterrupted marketing time in front of you over and over and over, day in and day out.
The subconscious seeds they have planted whether you understand psychology or not is undeniable. myvegas spews MGM, Wynn spews Wynn; concept is easy.

What I think has been largely understated (or at least understood by the developers if this is real) is the impact to your players when you stroke everyone's feelings for a few months, and tease and please them, and then without warning you leave them high and dry in a very obvious and clear fashion.

I know you are instigating but imagine if your airline /hotel / casino loyalty club had a coveted perk at “obtainium” level then a week beforethe earning cycle closes they de-value the points slash earning rate in some case by 99% and then tell you you have to reach “unobtainium” to redeem any of the points in your account.

legal? Probably. But in this situation most of us would be ex-customers even though they are only trying to make it harder to get free stuff.

also I don’t care that Wynn is not the app developer, they licensed their name, reputational risk is theirs.

There was a posting on Facebook about the changes. A response from Wynn said they are official and improve the game for the player with more rewards coming. You know what that means....1000 gems for a bottle of K-Y Jelly.

I started playing almost 3 months ago. About a month ago they downgraded my crown earns to the level the op mentioned. I stopped playing when I realized that there wasn’t value in it for me. This was about the same time that Comp City announced they were giving it up.
I find I have much more free time and am not as manic having to download bonuses.

Level 2 gets only 4 buffets a month...need level three for all rooms. Also, you average about 30 vip points per day now ( assuming you do all the spins, events....). That comes to 2700 vip points in a 90 day period. Tougher to maintain the 2500 level

Let's say you are at 0 VIP points and at level 0, how much would you have to straight spend to get to level 3 and get room booking privileges?

In other words, what is worst case scenario for someone with 10,000+ gems but no VIP points/status?

    Thanks

(Posted this on the facebook page also).

The problem with this change is that they specifically set the game up with the last change so that people would spend money. I (and am sure many others) spent money to get to level 2 so that I could get the room rewards. Now they change the rules so I have to spend even more money if I want to get anything out of the game. If it worked that way from the start then no one would have any right to complain - but I do feel I was deceived into spending what I did to get to level 2. It was not a significant amount - but still the fact is that they set up a structure that enticed me into spending money on their game then changed the rules to make that spending essentially worthless - unless I spend more to try to recoup something from what I already spent. Frankly that is pretty much the definition of a deceptive trade practice.

I believe you need spend $200 ( = 20,000 vip pts.) to get to level three and get rooms.

Thank you. Obviously not stoked about this, but it's not like it isn't on par with what I would be out of pocket with other comped rooms given the amount of Resort Fees I would pay for a four night stay.

I see the validation in this thought; however, if you wish to use WiFi, gym or other certain amenities at Wynn, you still have to pay the resort fees. Granted you don’t pay resort fees on these reservations so you need to opt-in to have everything.

I like their timing, as my last free rooms are already reserved, L2 still gets 4 buffets, and i am level 2 past my last redemption date with 2 of the 4 buffets booked too.

To all those freaking out, it is not as if you were not warned that things would continue to get devalued and to use your gems when you could. It is a bummer but not a surprise.

And the comparison to airlines and loyalty program points does not hold water. Those are accumulated perks based on spend and continued business. Wynn slots was utterly free giveaways, with a little bit of transition period where you could still get great deals with token spend. None of that was sustainable.

Also, level 3 is the first level you can book rooms at and it still has a 15% discount? Seems odd.

The people worth attracting to the casino take the first free stay, play like gambling addicts on the floor, and then Wynn can work to keep them by offering them free stuff directly without the game.

The people who are just taking the free rewards, spending the minimum $ possible, etc (like me!), really aren't WORTH keeping happy if they aren't willing to pay for rooms.

Exactly. This is why MyVegas has tweaked things over the years and require a stay in order to redeem most of the good rewards.
