Connie & I went to the original Cannery casino a couple of times (been a few years) and it was fun. Didn't stay at the hotel, but went to an outdoor concert there once and ate at their steak house. The Eastside Cannery website makes it look interesting - rooms look nice, and it looks like they have some full pay VP. If anyone has stayed or played there, what did you think of the place?

Rooms are not fancy but very nice and comfortable. Casino has low limits and is laid back. No resort fees, at least for the time being. I would stay there again. You can't really go wrong.

It's a nice casino as it's the newest one on boulder highway. Rooms are nice. Huge tub.

I stayed this past weekend. While the casino is nice. I'm still very suspect in how the payouts set. I posted in casino gaming about it. $1400 till one bonus round. Still suspect to me. Lol

I've played there a number of times but never stayed there. It's within walking distance (well, sortakinda) to Sams Town. The casino does have a fairly wide variety of the low-limit machines that I like.

IIRC the cocktail service on the floor was ok. Not terribly frequent but not annoyingly slow.

I've always seemed to do fairly well there (translated: did not lose very much) but no notable wins so far that I remember.

Stayed a couple of times. I like the rooms. They have a comfortable chair (for morning and afternoon news) and a fridge, which is nice. I also like the half wall separating the room from the vanity. The ice bucket sits on it rather than the vanity or worse yet, a vanity inside the bathroom. They had decent VP at lower denoms. Didn't play any BJ so I don't how much is 3:2 or 6:5. Decent sportsbook with a good deli nearby for sandwiches or salads. I'll have no problem returning.

Good Luck!

Wonder if resort fee starts when boyds takes over. Would be nice if Samstown shuttle picks up and drops off there from downtown and harrahs

Just got notified it is now Boyds. Did test booking and no resort fee yet. Not on BConnected yet.

I've been a few times. They have stuff I couldn't find anywhere else in terms of slots but that will probably change when Boyd gets in there. Pleasant environment although the locals there are a but more like riverboat customers and at times a PITA.

I was curious there hotel rates and was a little surprised on their Sunday to Thursday rates. The average was around $80 per night. I would have thought they would be somewhat lower considering the location.

The buffet was pretty good the one time I tried it and I seemed to get a lot of play for my money. I have never stayed there but a non gambling coworker did last year and said the room was really nice.

I like the rooms, floor to ceiling windows and fridge is nice. Free coffee in workout room each morning. Give them decent play and free room offers will come. Visit longhorn across the street for low budget gambling and great coffee shop. Cannery is airy, clean and fresh feel casino.

We have only played there once but we really liked it. We played mostly VP and they seemed to have good gaming odds and a good variety of games. It is within walking distance of Sam's Town and Longhorn. I think it has a pool but we did not check it out.

The one and only time my wife accompanied me to Vegas, we stayed at the Eastside Cannery. She not into gambling or the atmosphere found on DT or Strip.
Thus, a place like EC was perfect. I booked a standard $29/nite room for a long weekend in December and slipped the clerk a $20 upon check-in. She readily upgraded us to a corner suite. My wife, who is picky about hotel rooms, loved it.
