Anyone going to NAB?

I am a wedding videographer and freelance cinematographer and I follow NAB every year. It sounds like as good an excuse as any to make a trip to Las Vegas!

Anybody else in the broadcasting or filmmaking world and interested in going in April? I've done many conferences solo but never Vegas, so it would be fun to meet up with like-minded people.

My wife and I both worked in TV and went for years. Now that we are retired, we book our annual April trip to avoid it.
We also did the Chicago & Dallas NAB decades ago, but no city is more equipped for a convention that size than Vegas.

Last April I booked an anniversary trip with my wife not knowing that NAB was happening at the same time. I was concerned about crowds at first but you're right, the city took on 100,000 visitors like it was no problem.

Haven't been since 2006. I still have the Event Badge. I'm sure I'll go again some day.

I worked it years ago when I worked for a manufacturer. That was before I was such a Vegas fan but I still enjoyed it, although it was work. I went last year as a spectator and liked going to some of the lectures. I work for a network and they didn't send a lot of us, but we could get the days off if we paid our own expenses. That's what I did and it was okay and I got to see friends who I never see. Paying my own way sucked but at least I didn't have to write a report.

This year they dropped the days off policy. So I would have to lose a week's pay. I want to go but I have to add that number in.

I see you'll be staying at the Hard Rock... be sure to check out their new Oyster Bar. I enjoyed one of the best fish & chips meals evah there a few weeks back!
