if and when sports betting becomes legal in calif., I may ease off all together, or at least try the tribal casinos.
the wife and I spent as many as 24 nights in vegas as recently as 2019..so far this year, 4.
she was ailing then, but wanted to try and recapture some of the fun we have had on so many trips over the years.
I would like to do a solo trip for 3-4 days to make future bets prior to start of nba season in oct. but even that has marginal appeal.
also ditto the heat comments: july/aug./even september too darn hot!

I am changing the trip plans but still taking the trip. But also keeping an eye on crowds/shortages/covid/travel rules.

The one silver lining in this is airlines allowing free changes because it is the only way to get people to book anything, so I have all my deals locked in with zero commitment.

Same here, not going until possibly May 2022. I don't want my vacation to be filled with waiting in line and being annoyed about slow service, etc.

labor shortages - it is completely frustrating to find somewhere to eat on the Strip but I would never not take a trip because of this.

crowded flights (including mask-wearing) - flights were always crowded before Covid? I would never in a million years let a mask stop me from taking a trip. I can't even really wrap my head around this one, like seriously give up a vacation over wearing a mask on a plane?! I am taking Amtrak cross country and didn't even think about having to wear a mask because it is such a non issue.

    jacked-up prices - haven't noticed this myself

rowdier clientele - haven't noticed this myself

less buffet options, etc - definitely don't care about this

The only thing I will add is that my trips have increased just because Vegas is open and a lot of other places I would want to visit have restrictions on things I have never done before. So for one random example, in trying to visit all 50 states - I would not go to Idaho right now as the one place I have on my bucket list to visit is closed. But if something is closed in Vegas, it doesn't bother me because I know I will be back. But I will probably never go to Idaho twice.

In Hawaii we have no other gambling alternative. So for the gamblers in Hawaii I would imagine it is quite frustrating to be away so long from Vegas.

They must be struggling with decisions of when to return despite labor shortages, less entertainment and dining options, travel restrictions/issues, rideshares not up to par, car rentals still quite high. Vegas is opening up more and more but it still is not quite there yet.

I've talked to family and friends. Some are anxious to go but still holding back. Some have gone recently and were disappointed.

Yeah...I was there from 6/15 through 6/18... and it was miserable... 115 to 119 every day.
I think that was probably my last Vegas trip in the summer.
Sticking with March/April or October/November from now on!

Pretty much where I'm at as well. I'm too much of a low roller to get much in the way of appreciable comps. And I knew the day was coming soon when higher limits would make gambling less attractive, but even when limits were still low when I went in late 2018, I found myself getting bored with the gambling.

I want to check out Resorts World and perhaps tour Allegiant Stadium and go to another VGK game. But as opposed to trips in the past decade where I'd be out there for the better part of four days, I can see a scenario where I spend like two days in town before flying out.

We were there June 25-29 and were planning on a return July 23-27. I cancelled yesterday. The things we enjoy are just not there right now and I must admit the Delta outbreak is a part of the equation. August is also cancelled because of a scheduled surgery, so now hoping for Sept and also a MSS reopening by then.

We have made more trips in the last year then any year prior. We went last Aug for the wife's Bday, we went for our 20th anniversary at the end of Feb and we are going again in just over a week. Even if the wife flies, I drive the 12 hours so we always have a car, but that has been the norm for years, not due to COVID.

Masks, plexiglass, social distancing and rowdy clientele were deal breakers for me but COVID measures are done for now and I at least expect that the clientele is normalizing right along with all other conditions.

I don't like buffets anyway and I can handle the higher prices all things considered. I'm a go for an August trip.

Labor shortages, modified restaurants hrs, and mask mandate on the plane (I don't mind wearing one, it's the other ppl) are the deal breakers for the me.

Bingo. Then the heat came up here (Washington) and got us anyway. At least I didn't lose any money being stuck indoors with nothing to do but gamble.

Casinos, which were already tight, seem to be using Covid as a rationale to save money on staff and/or charge more. There is also talk of more of them going to a new, stingier model for comping gamblers. Altogether an unattractive prospect.

I miss gambling but I doubt we will return to Vegas until some show or other attraction lures us there.

I'm trying to figure out why I'm going anymore.

I get better gaming rules at my local. I can play $15 or $25 3/2 DD, double-after-split and re-split aces all the live long day without ever getting on a plane. Little in the way of perks, even with (admittedly undeserved) status.

Poker, for sure. Even if down here the tables are 10-max, the player pool is limited, so still only 6-7 tables in the entire region.

I'm going for work in 6 weeks. But the October trip is a solid maybe.

Love Vegas, love the heat, don't care about high limits because I generally stick to horse racing, video poker and sports betting. I was a bit turned off by the new clientele that had lodged themselves on the strip when I was there last November and in April, but they seem to have dissipated and my June trip was quite pleasant with the strip more or less back to normal—could be because room rates have gone back up and more things are open again.

I'm right on schedule to go 6 or 7 times this year, but I can certainly respect people who have "outgrown" Vegas. Unfortunately, I'm still a petulant child who needs his Vegas fix. Next trip also includes Laughlin where I haven't been since the pandemic started so I am also looking forward to that.

I wish I had choices like the rest of you. I am immunocompromised and it appears as if the vaccine is not effective for me. With the Delta Variant and Delta Plus circulating like smoke in a poker room - no thanks.

Even IF I could travel, I'm not sure that Vegas is the "great" destination it once was. Oh, I think the mask-wearing and social distancing were plusses - I'm thinking specifically about the labor shortage, travel delays and price-gouging. Those three things really "try" my patience. If you can't staff adequately, then don't allow so many damn visitors. If airlines can't handle the traffic - don't offer so many flights. Price-gouging. What can I say to this? Don't? Yeah, sure. When's the last time you saw any business do what's best for their customer?

I'm over the traveling until some of this is addressed. My hard-earned money has a lot of value to me. Vegas has to come a long ways to get me back at this point. When things become a bit safer for me I might do local or semi local and go to Reno. Until then, Vegas, Gurhl, get it together babe!

I went in May and cancelled in June. One huge awakening was that Gold Coast isn't what it used to be. I guess they are striving to be more, but they are looking for a different customer than me. The heat played a decision in my cancelling, but in the past I would have gone. I would have taken a cab to and from Gold Coast and spent the whole week there. What's different? Took out all my favorite machines. Closed the two places I usually ate. Did away with all the cool promotions on YAH day they used to have. What's left? Truthfully, a free room. And this stuff isn't coming back. So I'm not really avoiding Vegas, I'm transitioning. Next trip in September is split between Gold Coast and South Point. The 3 days at Gold Coast (weather allowing) I'll visit the strip, Tuscany, first time visit to Ellis Island, maybe take a trip to Sam's and Orleans. Then I'll check out what South Point has to offer, Silverton too.

I always visit Monday thru Fri or Sat and now I have any Raider related times to avoid too. I also have trips scheduled in Oct and Dec. If September leaves a bad taste, I'll likely cancel the rest of the year and see what the future brings. I'm not giving up on Vegas until they make it absolutely clear there's no place left for a customer like me.

I went down in mid-May and enjoyed myself. I typically avoid June/July and am considering returning in late August. I may try to coincide with the start of the NFL season.

Went in may and had a great time. Scheduled for august since it’s no hitter there than here. And reservation for family thanksgiving and we can drive so no worries about airline issues. So, no, not avoiding it at all
