I tend to go to casino resorts in their off-seasons to save money. For instance, I go to LV in July or August during the worst heat of the summer to get rooms for dirt cheap at the high-end resorts. Anybody else do this? My friends think I'm crazy.

I have gone twice in June and usually go every year in Sept. I dont mind the heat so much and just stay near the pool during the day. Last year in June we were there the week before the record high temps, not sorry I missed 118!

My wife and I have been to Vegas once in June and twice in July. Our next trip this year is in July as well. What can I say, we love the hot temps! And after having the temps here dip down to -13 this winter we can't wait for 100+ degree temperatures!

I have stayed in Vegas every month of the year. The heat can be brutal but the credit card bills for the room can be even worse! Some weeks aren't discounted as there are large groups in town. Best bargains off strip as usual most likely.

Last July I stayed at the Cosmopolitan, forget what I paid. The underground garage was about 105 F. Not high enough to bake cookies but certainly hot! Cooler than in the sun though!

Yep we love July in Vegas! For us, escaping to 100-110 degree temps with such low humidity was great! We were quite worried about it based on people telling us "it was as hot as the surface of the sun", but really loved it! The prices are great, and compared to the weather here, it can't be beat!

I am always in LV in July and Aug. It is hot--stay inside.

Of course! its a great time to go. Even on super hot days, just make sure you are inside from 10am-9pm. Its actually really nice late at night when it dips down to the 80s.

Oh and if you are into it, the eye candy on the strip when its 110......

Yeah I love going in July. It's not that bad we usually stay near a pool or inside during the day. No need to walk the strip at 3pm. If you have to go anywhere just take a cab from the valet area. At night it's decent enough to stroll the strip. Last year we stayed at Flamingo and walked down to Tao at the Venetian at like 10pm and it was like 85 outside. Hot but yet bearable

I love that super hot dry heat in the summer. I find it cathartic. Break out the linen clothing and enjoy that desert sun.

Maybe I'm just romanticizing it because I'm sick of all the snow and freezing temps here.

I don't really enjoy the summer because the way I do Vegas, I still move around a lot. One time I was out in the August sun and I felt like I was internally imploding...not a sweat to be had. That's when I knew I would take winter over the summer. It's a bit dangerous for the active traveler especially when I go off-strip and want to walk around. I am sure one year I will go back because I like nice rates.

Can anyone tell me about Labor Day weekend? I noticed aria is especially cheap that weekend for aria. Is there something weird going on that would make the price be lower?

My last three trips have all been in July. Mainly because it's a convenient time to get away from work, and breaks up the year. If the rates tend to be a little cheaper, that's a bonus. I'll take the 107 and dry in Vegas over 90 degrees with 90% humidity in OH anytime!

I go to Vegas about 3 times a year.........May, August, and late Oct./early Nov. I stayed at Caesars comped for a week in mid August last summer, and during the daytime, i spent the daylight hours frolicking around the Venus pool. To my amazement, topless babes surrounded me and behaving very badly.
Oh wait.........you guys mean the temp? Yeah, it was hot, but when you're in Hell, it's supposed to be HOT!

I never knew summertime to be "cheap". I always find Dec-early march the cheapest.

I dont mind summertime. I like it. You will find me doing nothing but laying out at the pool :thumbsup:. Ending the night, its a nice walk back to your room. During the winter, that walk can get cold.

Sadly, I have not found the summer to be cheap:(

I usually get the cheapest rates when its cold. I tend to go between October and June. My offers tend to dry up in July/August. In my experience they tend to be busiest February through November.
The cheapest room I've gotten was 12 on an offer through TR for the Quad...never again though no matter how cheap.

I think the trick with getting a cheap summer rate is to make sure you don't pick a fight weekend. Every room in Vegas is sold out when there is a boxing match or UFC event in town.

Our hotel rooms in August have always been cheaper than when we go for business in February, or when we've gone for fun in Sept & Oct (except when we got those awesome $59 Venetian "reblast" rates so many years ago)

I think August is pretty cheap - kids starting to go back to school, no 3 day weekends for Californians to take advantage of, etc. But rates change all the time and what was high season 5 years ago might not be now.

I really don't like Vegas in the summer. I hate dry heat. I'm not fond of humid heat either but I'm more accustomed to it. Being in Vegas is like being in an oven. And then I'm overchilled indoors.:peace:

I am from California, and don't mind Vegas in summer at all. My perception of hot has been skewed by spending two years in Iraq, but I don't think Vegas is that bad because it is so dry. I may pay for an extra cab ride or two during summer, whereas in other seasons I walk everywhere. It seems to be a little cheaper during summer, but I've been told the beginning of December is always the cheapest time of year.

My second and final Vegas trip this year is in June. I like to play in the poker events and bet baseball (and the NHL Stanley Cup if still on going). I may take a side trip to Yosemite or Bryce Canyon as well.

Vegas has a high occupancy rate during the summer. Vegas is typically slow between Halloween and NASCAR, excluding non special event periods (i.e Rodeo, CES, Super Bowl, Chinese NY, MLK & Presidents Day Weekends, etc).
