Who here has eaten there? Thoughts? Suggested dishes? Let me have it, the good, the bad and the ugly; I implicitly trust you ne'er do wells here versus the cretins and bitch fest addicts Yelp, and TripAdvisor seem to be rife with nowadays.

It's a classic place, and it's very good. They were apparently grandfathered and get to have flaming bananas Foster.

Having said this, it has gone marginally down hill based on my last visit. But don't misunderstand this to mean it's not good. It is very good, corn fed USDA Prime. And it's probably a place everyone should go to at least once.

I am with Golfer. It is very good, but has waned a bit. Don't let the outside fool you. You will like the inside.

As for dishes, I am of no help, as I always order the Rib Eye, medium rare, if you please. Sauce? No thanks, a great steak only needs salt and pepper. Bananas Foster, of course. I also get the Caesar salad. Man, I am boring.

Yes, table side Caesar salad is a must as well.

    No ugly at all.

Great food and service. Very "Old Vegas" ambiance. IIRC the menu, preparation, and presentation are very traditional, as opposed to the more contemporary (faux-foodie?) style of many of the newer places.

Considering eating there next month.......mainly for the "old school" vibe.

    Anybody been recently? Any thoughts?

My boss and her husband have been visiting there since way back when.
They really enjoy the old-school ambiance, cocktails and service but admit that the food is mediocre at best.
You might enjoy the classic desserts like cherries jubilee made tableside. I think they have peach melba
    and baked Alaska too.

My buddy and I in our younger days (1986 to be exact) were in the midst of a 3 or 4 day bender staying at Vegas World. One night we were running on fumes from all the Coors and a Certain stimulant we brought along..Just walking out there looking for some sustenance .Saw the sign from the Strip and had the best meal ever..And the overall ambiance was too cool for Vegas first-timers.
Never been back, but we never are even closeby to the area and a sportsbook deli is more appealing to us than a steakhouse dinner..but what a real meal and cool memory..Try It Gino.

We ate there in December 2016 on my birthday weekend. The food was decent but not great. Same for the service. For example, they had unexpectedly cancelled our Open Table reservation, then begrudgingly found us a table when we showed up. They also mixed up all of our maritnis when they delivered them to the table. Yes, the vibe is "old school". Overall, it was okay. I don't regret it but I'm not sure I would go back at that price point.
