Interesting thread. As a "terminally low-roller", I thought I would chime in. My husband and I always set an amount per day that we can afford to "lose" in Vegas. It's usually only around the $500-$700 mark for a 3 day trip. My husband loves slots. Even when he is winning, my heart starts having palpitations when I see him pull a hundy out of his wallet and know that it is destined for a machine. When he wins and he is up, I beg him to cash out and move on. When he doesn't, I sometimes get angry. I shouldn't, but I do.

He loves to "play" and I have to understand that. I love to play too, I just am a little more on the nervous side but it's all part of why we like going to Vegas. We'd never be so frivilous with our hard earned money at home!

I pay the bills in the family and keep track of the finances so leaving Vegas with an empty wallet makes me twitch, but to him he doesn't care as long as he had fun.

We'd both love to experience what it's like to play like the high rollers but as I understand it, it's all relative so really, it's the same....it would feel the same. Our low rollin has given us several free rooms, food and shows over the years -- so we can't complain :)

To the OP, play with what you are comfortable with. If you are tense and unhappy the whole time you are playing whatever it is that you are playing -- it's not worth it, it takes the fun out of it. When you go to Vegas, expect to lose but have a great time doing it
