Going to be Las Vegas in October and my wife has never seene Phantom. Any chance or word that Phantom would extend past the September closing date or is the September closing final? Just wondered if anyone had heard anything.

They are closing it and replacing it with another show... so there is no chance it will continue at Venetian.

Normally Las Vegas as a whole is really keen on recycling shows - one hotel drops a show and another is there to pick it up again right away... but not all shows get picked up when their run is done and I think Phantom will likely fall in to that "not going to be picked up by somebody else" category (its a licensed show, expensive to set up initially, needs custom theater, large cast and crew, expensive to run).

Yeah, I haven't heard of any extention...I think it's gone.
The showroom will need some work for the next Show too.
Unofficial but a good rumor...Faith Hill and Tim McGraw will go
into PHANTOM theatre and very possibly rotate with Pricilla,
    Queen of the Night.
Rock of Ages is rumored to be going into the BLUE MAN theratre
    also at the Venetian.
Book of Mormon is rumored to replace JERSEY BOYS at Plazzo.

They've been selling VIP ticket packages for the final week of the show for a while now, so I imagine the people who bought those wouldn't be too happy if it was extended (and people willing to put down $200+ each for those would likely make some noise about it too).

Thank you all for the input. I thought that the drop dead date in September was firm but just wanted to see if anyone heard different.

Sounds like the rumour of Rock of Ages moving in is true , saw this on the Venetian FB page .....

We can’t wait until Rock of Ages arrives in December. Until then, the Rock of Ages (Movie) will keep us at bay.

and they posted a clip of the movie trailer .........

Did Rock of Ages play once already in Vegas?

I saw Phantom in 2008 , was wonderful , sorry to hear you will miss it

No, but We Will Rock You (Queen) did......Maybe that's what you're thinking?

(Rock of Ages touring show could have gone through Vegas - I saw the touring version last fall in the town where I work....)

Rock of Ages did play at the Flamingo in 2006 before it ever hit broadway.

Cool! Didn't know this - looked it up and guess it was part of their out of town practice? (1 or 2 week run....) Heck, I'd rather play Vegas than New Haven:thumbsup:
