After a short period of the Vegas blues which occurs right after a trip concludes, the thoughts shift to the next trip and the anticipation begins. We already got our spreadsheet going for our NYE trip haha

In regards to a 'lull' in anticipation I think, if anything, as the trip gets really close (like a few days away leading up to the day of departure) I start thinking "In a week I'll be back home and the trip will be done " At that point I'm "almost" not wanting the trip to start because I know it will be ending just as fast. But I come to my senses and think "VEGAS!!" and I go back to not being able to wait another minute to get there.

When I would first go to Vegas, I was so crazy that, starting two weeks prior, I would count down the HOURS remaining. Now I start getting excited 1 month before, then the last week I really start getting that exciting feeling.

I usually book 2 to 3 months ahead, sometimes as much as 4. About 4 to 6 weeks out I start getting super excited, watching more Vlogs, reading more blogs, etc. Off and on during that time, I also switch in and out of a worry/anxiety type feeling, worrying about things that could go wrong or happen to spoil my trip. That period pretty much sucks.

Once I hit single digits, I am pumped and counting the hours. The days seem to just drag at this point. Then the last few days, like I am now, I'm starting to get ready, getting any work caught up, making packing lists, etc. If you ask hubbie, he might also say I get a bit cranky, because time is going so slow and everything annoys me. LOL I'm kind of in that period now!

I've noticed over the past 10 years the "Vegas excitement" is nothing like it use to be. Back in the day I'd get so excited when my trip was 6 months out. Then it became 3 months, then 1 month. My last trip was Feb '19 and I didn't even get excited for my trip until I landed in Vegas, got checked in, and was able to hit the casino floor. I still love Vegas but it's nothing like it use to be.

I have 4 months and two weeks (and 1 day) until my next trip. Why oh why did I cancel my October trip?? I’ve only been back 4 weeks from my last trip. Thought I was good for a long while.
Sadly, I’m not...... I need another fix!

That’s like me. Get out the suitcase a week before, start adding things daily (with notes and lists). You’d think I was going for a month.

For me, it really starts on the exact date of departure, the month before. For example, my flight is on November 6th, when October 6th hits, I really kick into hyper planning mode and the excitement starts to build.

When i booked in May for my September trip i was excited but after a few days it was life as usual. Now I'm less than a week away and its all Vegas all the time. Movies, books, webcams, message boards, you tube vloggers..I'm obsessed and can barely think of anything else.By the time i actually get to Vegas it's almost anti-climatic. Haha. Such is the life of a Vegas fanatic.
