    My Trip Report

Welcome one and all to another JR and Gaggles trip report. However this one will not simply be based on questionable choices around drinking and gambling. This one will be based on questionable choices around gambling, drinking, AND a wedding ceremony. That is not a typo everyone. After years of pleading, rationalizing, persuading, requesting, petitioning, imploring and beseeching...JR has relented and agreed to get married to Gaggles.

The proposal took place in St. Thomas in February and before she could sober up and recover from the heat stroke, I had the ceremony booked and contracts signed to prevent her from changing her mind. That has lead us to this point. On Sep 7 Gaggles and JR are gonna kick this thing up a notch and get hitched at the Flamingo.

It has been a pretty hectic couple of weeks here and I think I understand why people elope! Nonetheless we have endured and I think we are ready to get this wedding trip report started.

For those of you that may have followed some of our past reports, you may recognize many of the cast of unsavoury characters over the next few days. So whether you're a a degenerate gambler or a hopeless romantic, we may have something for you here.

So, because I am about to start stuffing little fancy bags full of chocolates and put ribbons on them for each guest, I will keep this opening page a bit brief.

    Timeline:

Sep 3: Gaggles, JC and Bonzo head out in the Gaggles Family Truckster for a leisurely drive to everyone's favourite city. We are going down a couple days early to get a few things settled as well as transport some wedding stuff and the brides dress. I have already told my passengers that they are NOT allowed to eat gas station nachos in the back seat of the vehicle. I cannot even imagine how I could talk my way out of orange stains on JR's wedding dress. In fact, now that I think about it, we may have throw away those bags of Dorito's I bought yesterday.....

Sep 4: Recon Team arrives in Vegas to make sure the craps tables are sufficiently warmed up for the arrivals that start on Thursday Sep 5th. We have a nice little suite booked at the Flamingo for five nights.

Sep 5: JR and some others arrive including Big Sack. Grab JR from the airport for a quick make out session and then we go get the wedding license.

Sep 6: Most of our other guests arrive.

Sep 7: The Big Day at Flamingo complete with party at Flamingo then we hop in a 40 man party bus for two hours and then end the night with a drop off at the Voodo Lounge. My input on the wedding has been minimal as I am sure you all could guess being that most brides get what they want. But I did request our walk out song as a couple to be Viva Las Vegas. Because....what other song would we have right????

Sep 8: First NFL Sunday of the year!!!!! I mean...first day as a married man! I am already meeting some resistance about getting anytime in a sportsbook....I am gonna work on this.....

Sep 9: Check out of Flamingo and head home via Lake Havasu, Grand Canyon, Zion Canyon or we will head to California with perhaps a stop at Star Wars Disneyland and then head north up the PCH back to Canada.

We have some hotels booked for both trips and we will have to decide which road to travel but we will worry about that next Sunday right???

We have friends coming from a lot of different locations within North America. In fact, we have about double the amount I was expecting. I am convinced it is because the wives are certain something will go awry and they are attending only out of morbid curiousity with the anticipation of me doing something to mess this up. In any event, we are going to have a great crew of misfits and from Friday-Sundy, we should not be hard to find if any of you are at the Flamingo pool on each afternoon.

Now am I forgetting anything?? Am I forgetting anything? Oh ya...a stag and stagette party!!!! On Friday the bride and groom part ways and will not be seen together again until the wedding. The girsl get the suite at Flamingo and the boys get a suite at Bally's courtesy of our good friend MB and his host who have donated a room for the cause for Friday night. I'm not sure what the girls have planned but I am told that the boys are gonna break out the Scrabble Boards, order some Kale salads, and if we are feeling a little crazy we may kick it up a notch and rent a Rated R movie. I will keep you appraised of the details.

We have a lot of stuff planned here and frankly it's too much to fill out right now but I am going to promise a good time to all who visit our Trip Report.

I am going to say goodbye for now because these fancy chocolate bags aint gonna make themselves pretty without my help.

I will provide more updates and pictures tomorrow and I hope you all enjoy the ride. I also look forward to seeing some of you who we have arranged to meet with in advance.

I will be adding to this when I am sober enough to remember. Gaggles has seen fit to make me a groomsmen, so god help him Friday night. Although responsible Macker has told @Gaggles it is a bad idea to drink til 8AM the day of your wedding. Wife and I are meeting up with MB and his gf for an early dinner at Mesa Grill, as he is heading to Keith Urban. After that I will be joining the Gaggles festivities. As for Saturday I am honored to stand up there with my friend, although I am hoping this heating warning goes away because even though I've lost 80 pounds this year, 100+ degree weather and a monkey suit are not a good combo!

I got back from 2 weeks in Cabo a week ago and just put a deposit down for another wedding that I'm a groomsmen in this April in Mexico, so my budget is not what it normally is. That being said I think the boozing shenanigans will be more likely than the gambling ones.

I arrive Friday morning and really just winging most of the trip. I will be where I am supposed to be and other than that no real plans. Let's getter done!

Right? Especially that first non escorted night on Wednesday! I am leaving 3/4 of my cash in the safe that night lest I begin to tilt. I'd like to avoid "Any Imperial entanglements."n And if I am too broke to pay the minister when he arrives, it might not be the optimal start to a marriage. But MAN would that be funny. In fact.....this may be a good opportunity for funny Vegas moment adn photo op.....
