    My Trip Report

Well, I guess it's officially started. I logged in to SWA and got my boarding pass. A33 another $15.00 saved.

Now I'm on my way to pick up a rental car in order that I can do a drop (of junk out of my house) and pick-up (of my ex-wife) in Sacramento (120 miles away) who will be watching my son for the two days I'm gone.

    My missions:

    1)Earn a 2500TC day
2)Avoid playing at CET all day Sunday.
3)Complete the 5th and final GGWU bonus event.

For those of you who have never been 7*, it's hard to describe how "addicting" the treatment is, but I'm hooked for at least one more year. I need six 2500TC days between now and the end of the year to renew my 7* status. For those of you who track coin-in, that's $12,500 in slot action, or $25,000 in VP a day). I have the days booked, and the gambling money "reserved".

Probably the only reason that I am able to do this is the fact that I consider myself fortunate that I am still "up" for the year. Two back to back trips of up over $5000 can do that. By my count, it will be 15 trips to Las Vegas or Reno/Tahoe this year, and I haven't paid for a room or a meal at a CET casino yet this year.

However, this will all come to a big slowdown next year. My plan is that I will renew my 7* for 2018, and keep my 7* until it expires 1/31/2019, but next year I am going to "focus" on other things.

The youngest of my "crew" (of 4. We've been friends since High School) turns 60 next year, and wants to celebrate his birthday in the Phillipines. I told the crew that would be the only way they'd get me to the PI (Philippine Islands). I plan to take a side trip before the PI to go to Sasebo, Japan, to stay two nights in the "robot hotel"

    http://www.h-n-h.jp/en/

It is a hotel (the first) almost completely staffed by robots!!

It is adjacent to Huis Ten Bosch, which, according to the wikipedia article, is:

"Huis Ten Bosch is a theme park in Sasebo, Nagasaki, Japan, which recreates the Netherlands by displaying life-sized copies of old Dutch buildings. The name Huis Ten Bosch translates into English as "House in the Woods/bush".

    http://english.huistenbosch.co.jp/

But, enough about that. That's next March. I still have the two 2017 7* trips to take and the renewal of 7* this year. This is the first of 6 trips scheduled through the rest of the year.

The "gambling" will start in earnest at 6AM Monday morning, that is the start of the GGWU bonus event.

Sunday will be spent "farting around" and doing some "obligation gaming" to keep my comp privileges in order at mLife (start of their new Year) QQQQ ($350 in comp money there) , and Venetian/Palazzo (I have $400 in comps saved up there). Many of my trips are "solo", so the spend on my comps are minimal and I have "saved them up" over the years. I keep planning to use them when I travel with a NRF (non-related female), but who knows when that will happen. I haven't yet found one that I would like to entertain and that would want to go with me. Perhaps more the latter than the former..

Anyway, that's the prep. I will be publishing lots of photos. Meals Monday will be at mLife casinos, courtesy of myVegas. I also still have $200 in mLife gift cards and $300 in Mastercard gift cards from CET to spend on food, but I do have 5 or 6 trips left this year.

Oh, and regarding myVegas. myVegas and mLife are NOT doing the HGS this year, so myVegas has been pretty much "off" my radar this year, sorry to say. I let my myVegas host know why. The $1800 a year in HGS points was the only thing that kept me interested. Now I just gotta figure out how to "spend" 5M myVegas lotalty points

Anyway, sorry to drag on and on about the prep, but I just wanted to get you guys prepared for this trip.

At the end of the year, I still plan to post a report on "what 7* cost me and what I got out of it".

Thanks for reading. Hope you enjoy this TR.

Well, the trips started out inauspiciously, a 2 hour delay on the tarmac at SJC, possibly faulty fuel filter. Finally got into LV at 10AM and to Harrahs at 10:30.

I must've pissed someone off, because the put my in the Mardi Gras tower. I still got my suite, though. (pictures to come shortly)

Since the room wasn't ready, I went out on the floor. Even though I wasn't supposed to play at any CET properties today, because the promotion doesn't start tomorrow at 6AM, I decided to start out with maybe a 500TC day.

I started out playing Wonder 4 Tower (yes, a very risky proposition, because I always play "max bet"). $300 went very quickly, and I hadn't achieved 100TC. Oops. Possible a BIG strategic error.

    Then, I hit this:

    upload_2017-10-1_12-9-57.png

    $15.00 x 32 = $480 and just like that, I was back ahead.

I continued to play, hitting $200 here and there, until I moved to a Wierd, Wicked, and Wild machine. Down about $100, I realized that I was only playing $0.40 a pull. As soon as I switched $4.80 (max bet) I got a bonus for $200.

I had achieved 500TC, and was up $600.00

Done at Harrah's (at least I should be).

Went back to Diamond check-in and my room was ready. A non-remodeled suite in the Mardi Gars tower. Not too bad.

The outside room, room enough for a guest to sleep, with refrigerator

The view isn't much, but is is technically a "strip view"

And the room safe in the bathroom closet.

    upload_2017-10-1_12-21-29.png

OK, so now I am up, so I guess I'll wander over to Mirage or V/P for lunch. Let's see what shakes out this afternoon. Dinner will probably be at the Aria buffet.

So, went over to Venetian Palazzo to turn in some chips ($5 worth) sat down at the new Kronos Unleashed machine. Of course I play with all of the extras, which turned a $3.00 machine into a $6.00 machine. Fortunately, I hit a bonus game, which put me up $220 at Venetian.

    upload_2017-10-1_16-24-10.png

The Silver Strike machines are full, but no red or blue caps that I could see.

OK, put in my time there. Time to go to lunch.

Decided to be thrifty, since tomorrow could be a brutal day, so I drove up to Hong Kong Garden Seafood and B.B.Q. on S. Jones And Spring Mtn.

    I ordered

    Beef Chow Fun with Gravy

    upload_2017-10-1_16-26-5.png

It came with the soup of the day

    upload_2017-10-1_16-26-31.png

    And roast duck.

    upload_2017-10-1_16-27-51.png

I was pretty sloppy in eating this, but ate a good portion. of the beef and vegetables and all of the roast duck.

The total for this was $12.88! I tipped $4.00 (yeah, over tip) That's less than a bowl of Pei Don Sau Yook Jook at the cafe at Venetian!!

Was going to go over to Mandalay Bay and spend some time there, but decided that I had enough of casinos for awhile, and decided to drive down to Searchlight, NV, to get some beef jerky for my son.

Since I was up, I decided to spend some of my winnings while I still had them.

    upload_2017-10-1_16-30-50.png

Spent $88.00. I bought 3 each of these

    upload_2017-10-1_16-38-9.png

Drove back to Harrahs, decided to take a break and get my TR up to date. I'm still full from lunch, so dinner is a question mark at this point. I have a comp buffet at Aria, but might save it for tomorrow night.

Picked up some soaps for my ex-wife

    upload_2017-10-1_16-38-44.png

Time for a break. May see what movies are on, since I get one free one per day. Then we'll see what the evening brings . . .

Turn on your lights and use the blinds to try and signal @WelshBlonde over at the mirage. Could be an interesting conversation since if she responds neither will know what the other is saying (wales carries a heavy accent)
Love your trip reports. On first reading you were dropping son then remarking as to 4th member of your crew (thought maybe you had 4 kids) but then 60 woke me up a bit. Oops. Good luck in maintaining the bankroll in your pursuit.

Now, I realize that without pictures, technically it "didn't happen". Just came back from MGM Grand. Bought a 24 hour pass and took the monorail.

I had $100 FP from two years ago that I wanted to use up. Made $80 out of the $100.

Went to the High Limit area to see if my Marker privileges were still intact. The lady told me, a host will call me back in about 10 minutes. So I went to play.

I saw a Pink Diamond machine. $1.00, 25 lines. I said to myself, what the heck, I'm up $80 here, and up for the trip. Let's play three pulls. On the first pull, I got the bonus!!! Eight free spins!!! Great, anything I win is GRAVY!! Ended up winning $314.00 on that machine. Took the $414.00 TITO back to the cashier and the lady said "She hasn't called me back yet.". I said, I don't think I'll be needing that marker.". "Why, did you win something?", she asked. "Yeah, a little." So I tipped her and the other gal $2.00 each and walked out of MGM Grand up another $390.00.

So, all tolled, I'm up about net $1000. I want to go to dinner at Aria to use my free buffet, but if I go, I'll have to leave all but $200 in the safe, and all my ATM/credit cards there too.

My BFF is in Europe, so I don't have him to "talk me down". Guess I'm gonna just have to "man up" and grow a pair.

    7PM, not even hungry . . . .

The Aria buffet is only good M-Th. It's the Luxor buffet dinner that's good tonight. Of course, I could just pay and go somewhere else. Let me see what good hotpot restaurants are in Chinatown . . . . .

Well, I decided to "cheap out" on dinner. Had Champong at a restaurant in the food court of a Korean Supermarket on Spring Mountain Rd.

    Bakrihyang
    6850 Spring Mountain Road F-4
    Inside the Greenland Market
    Las Vegas, NV 89146

Champong is a Korean-Chinese spicy seafood noodle soup dish. All of this cost me $8.85.

    upload_2017-10-1_22-30-24.png

    Very good, and very filling.

Got back at 9PM. Seriously, a little too early to go to sleep. I had about $600 in my wallet (having left most of it in the safe in the room), so I attempted to finish out the 1000TC day.

For those of you who aren't CET TC gurus, the daily bonuese are:

    500TC - 20% (125TC)
    1000TC - 100% (1000TC)
    2500TC - 200% (5000TC)
    5000TC - 200% (10000TC)

However, luck is very "fickle" and the $ per TC can vary greatly. The first 2000TC can only cost you $.75-$1.25/TC, and the last 500 can cost you $2-3/TC. But, the payoff in bonus TCs is very rewarding.

Well, I couldn't maintain my streak. Just couldn't pick any "good" machines. I got sucked in to complete a 1000TC day, and I dropped $585 going after the last 500TC. I tried to do it conservatively. Played the new Penn & Teller machine. A fairly "low" volatility machine, with lots of "bonus" action. It sustained me for that last 300TC and only cost me $200.

Got home and they delivered the FOB 7* amenity. I really need to talk to my host about that.

    upload_2017-10-1_22-40-57.png

Well, tomorrow will start at 6AM, an attempt at a 2500TC day, as well as hand pays (yeah right . . .) at the CET properties where I've never had them. The Cromwell, Paris, and Rio. Still up a little under $650, and that's hopefully NOT a necessary "cushion" Wish me luck.

Well, it's a good thing that I had the cushion. I'm 3/5 of the way done with My objective. It's 9:25AM and I'm back in the room getting ready to check in for my flight home tomorrow.

The reason I was "holding back" and not playing Sunday is because a 6X RC multiplier was in effect for today for GGWU.

    Caesars Palace - 503TC lost $375
The Cromwell - 501TC lost $1100 (ouch, I gotta quit playing there, my fault though, got aggressive on a $10 Stinkin' Rich)
Harrahs - 505 TC lost $350 Played Wonder 4 tower, got 3 Super Free Games on WW II, but nothing more than $200.

Trip total - Down a little over a thousand, but I have 2500TC and 1500TC today. If the last 1000 TC is "reasonable", I should be well within budget. We'll see how it goes/

So, after I check in at SWA, I'm going downtown for Breakfast at Magnolia's

Wow. I guess I lose this time with SWA. B-03. May be an opportunity to "buy my way" into A1-A15.

OK, off to downtown for breakfast and pick up pepperoni sticks for my son.
