Trips to Las Vegas

The new owner wants to open it on Presidents Day calling it Ten. Dont ask me where they got that name from, hope they get Bo Derek to cut the opening ribbon at least.
From what I read the casino licence part is tied up in all kinds of legal crap.
My idea was to have the VA buy it and turn it into a combination hospital ,rehab and R&R center at the beach for the troops and their families.

Interesting. Probably not the best location for a VA facility, but I like the way you think.

There has been a need for a facility in South Jersey for a long time, theres a large base nearby and a growing population of seniors who are vets.
I like the idea that active duty personnel besides those needing medical care could be rotated in for some r&r ,this is a large hotel if you've never seen it.

What a stupid name. Good luck with that. I live a little over an hour from AC and have been there in over 2 years. I've been to Vegas 4 times since my last AC trip. I don't think I'll ever return unless I get some decent offers. I used to get rooms on a Friday or Saturday with no problem. Not so anymore. Not even discounted. The last time I was interested in going was about a year ago. The best I could get from a CET property was about $400 for a Saturday night. Screw that. There was a time when I could stay in Vegas for a week for that amount.

Tropicana treated me fine in AC. Borgata called, verified our play, and told us to go pound sand. It was shocking. Not so much about me, but my friend is considered a big player wherever he goes. I'm guessing the independent ACC casinos are the only ones that comp at a nonfiction level.

Borgata will go broke turning away 100K players. Remarkable how stupid their decision was. Tropicana has called and offered to fly us both back whenever we want. Again, that's my friend's play, I'm not near that big.

I enjoyed Atlantic City. At some point I'll go back.

I'll believe it when i see it, they were supposed to reopen it last year too. I really hope they do because other than the Borgata its by far the nicest property in AC

Yeah. We usually go to Harrah's or Golden Nugget. Play a little at the Trop but usually get frustrated with some customer service issue at Trop and some of their clientele is a bit sketchy. On a whim we spent the day at Borgata a couple months ago. Wow. It's so clean there. The bathrooms are immaculate. The employees are all wide-eyed and friendly. The security folks were all very nice and abundant without being intrusive.

A big reason I was excited about Revel when it opened is that it was a nice place within walking distance of several other casinos on the north side of the Boardwalk.

Now both the Taj and Showboat are closed, and I've never liked Resorts much.

I agree that I'll believe it when I see it. Straub seems like a fruitcake.

Hey Now!
I really enjoyed the Revel.
Since I'm a Resorts Rat I hope for the best.
Even if the dude is a fruitcake.
