An observation or two...

A proper, detailed trip report for my February 4-10th getaway is forthcoming, but in the meantime I offer the following observations:

  • Bellagio is still the classiest joint in Vegas.
  • Mandalay Bay is also nice, although not in quite the same league as Bellagio.
  • The monorail is convenient for getting from MGM Grand to Sahara, The Hilton, or the Convention Center -- if traveling from MGM Grand to any other monorail stop, it would take less time to walk to your final destination than it would to walk through MGM Grand to get to the monorail.
  • Penn & Teller are boss.
  • If I could retire today and not have to worry about money, I would spend the rest of my life in the Bellagio sportsbook with my butt firmly planted in a comfy leather chair, drinking the tastiest free Bloody Mary known to man.
  • Even someone with the best poker face in the world needs to get good cards once or twice in order to be successful.
  • When betting on an 11-point underdog, always take the points no matter how much the money line might pay.
  • Los Angeles is a nice side trip from Vegas if you've never been.
  • The huge advertisements stuck to the facades of every casino on The Strip need to go.
  • I'm still trying to figure out why I left 75 degrees and sunny for 8 degrees and icy.

Looking forward to the "full report". And you're right. The weather here is sucking.
 
Agreed. There's a lot to be said for the rapid-fire TRs.
Maybe we could have two boards for TRs. One for the condensed version and another for the blow-by-blow account.
 
Chef--how about you just skim if it's too long for ya to read:Þ We don't need a division of that sort (in my own, very humble of course, opinion)

The "buffet-style" report? for those who don't have time to sit down and tuck in? TR "shooters", even?

I gotta agree with you about the sportsbook in the Bellagio I could live there. Chef, how about at TR on tape for those that don't have the time to read.:haha:
 
Glad to see other Cincinnati folks here as well. I think you'll agree that the weather the past two days has made Vegas even more attractive. If I had known the weather was going to be such a pain I would have stayed out west a few more days.

The trip report is coming along. I hope to post it soon.

Lest you think different of me:
While I seriously like the condensed TR version, you can not beat the entertainment value of the long-winded, detailed TRs.
Vicariously, I need that. The bullet-style doesn't have that aspect.
Like the rest of you, I read 'em all cover-to-cover.

In fact, here is an idea I bounced off of Sonya a couple years ago - having a book published based upon T2V TRs?
I think it would sell quite a few copies.
