A proper, detailed trip report for my February 4-10th getaway is forthcoming, but in the meantime I offer the following observations:
That's all for now... be on the lookout for the real trip report in the next few days or so.
- Bellagio is still the classiest joint in Vegas.
- Mandalay Bay is also nice, although not in quite the same league as Bellagio.
- The monorail is convenient for getting from MGM Grand to Sahara, The Hilton, or the Convention Center -- if traveling from MGM Grand to any other monorail stop, it would take less time to walk to your final destination than it would to walk through MGM Grand to get to the monorail.
- Penn & Teller are boss.
- If I could retire today and not have to worry about money, I would spend the rest of my life in the Bellagio sportsbook with my butt firmly planted in a comfy leather chair, drinking the tastiest free Bloody Mary known to man.
- Even someone with the best poker face in the world needs to get good cards once or twice in order to be successful.
- When betting on an 11-point underdog, always take the points no matter how much the money line might pay.
- Los Angeles is a nice side trip from Vegas if you've never been.
- The huge advertisements stuck to the facades of every casino on The Strip need to go.
- I'm still trying to figure out why I left 75 degrees and sunny for 8 degrees and icy.
That's all for now... be on the lookout for the real trip report in the next few days or so.
