I looked at Southwest rates today from Houston to Vegas. May rates are $54 one way. Pretty good deal. Apparently the virus will be manageable soon since their rates are back to normal for June.

SF Bay Area too. I canceled $230+ flight on SWA, rebooked for $98 roundtrip, have $130 credit.

But, in a contradictory twist, I'm considering canceling.

I'm not the least bit afraid of flying, exposure to the virus, or other health concerns. I partly think it will be nice if not so crowded. Perhaps easier to get an upgrade.

But I don't want to experience eerily empty casinos, walk past shuttered buffets and exhibits. As revenues decline, the resorts will scale back to save money. I'm staying at Nomad in 3 weeks. I dont want to find I cant grab a snack or espresso in Eataly, or can't use the Nomad pool. I have a show or two on my to-do list.

Haven't cancelled yet... still monitoring and hoping... but if/when I see that that more services are temporarily suspended, fewer attractions operating, I'm probably going to cancel. Hope not, but....

I'm waiting too. I rebooked my Southwest round trip from Norcal to $98 and saved $100. But I think the NHL is going to announce the cancellation of the season tomorrow. The CET hotel rates are insane, like $7 and $9 before resort fees.

I cancelled/rebooked mine last week for my trip in a couple of weeks. Saved about half of what I originally bought it for. Just looked again, and they're back up to over what I first paid. Guess I got lucky. But, now I have most of my next ticket for October already paid for.

Waiting as well and happy that I will get the points back that I used to book the flight if I choose to cancel.

Just booked roundtrip for September for just under 18k points. That hasn't happened in a LONG time.

Oh, and rebooked my one way to LAS for May and got a $54 credit.

Holy cow, check again. If you fly in the next month during certain days, it is absolutely dirt cheap. I just checked for April 15-20th and it returned a R/T number of $53 including all taxes. (CLE-LAS) The outbound flight is listed at $6 plus taxes and the return is $35 or so plus taxes. Sadly, even with comped nights, the resort fees are still a couple hundred. Without the resort fees, I would have booked 10 minutes back.

Now that these resorts are on the stock market we can never expect to see great deals (comped rooms) or gifts unless we lose thousands of dollars in the casino. I feel the norm will be $30 rooms downtown and $90 on the strip at best for those who don't leave much on the table. And I won't ever get a car unless I have plans to drive in it every day. It adds up.

Ya i saw that too...im in Chicago and usually pay about $50 approx or so to LV whenever i go. I was just there in Feb and might consider going at the end of next month for a $45 flight there and a bit more returning but i'll have to see how things are in the world. I wasnt planning on returning to LV until the fall but for $45 i might return sooner.

Man they are low! I can fly from Tallahassee for just $1,008 round trip! (Ok that's first class, but Economy was still over $700 with 1 checked bag when I looked yesterday, but the Delta first class price is down about 60% since Tuesday)

It’s $43RT on Spirit for CMH to LAS right now.

$258RT on Southwest for any days you want to go or come back right now through June 12.

    This is insane.

$36 Total Round Trip (one personal item allowed) Frontier from O'Hare to Vegas, various dates (at crappy flight times - late at night or red eye) through April.

You can bundle seats and bags and so forth for $68. If I didn't just return, would definitely consider. May still consider a short trip.

If you're willing to wait another few weeks, the prices will be adjusted even lower once the Saudi/Russian oil fight is taken into consideration in totality. Much like gasoline, airline fuel is quick to rise when crude does but slow to fall. Things will be even cheaper by the end of the month.
