I kind of finagled a long layover in Las Vegas on my way home from Reno on May 12, and have about five plus hours in between flights. As much as I like Reno, their dining scene isn't exactly World class.

I arrive at 1:00 PM and have a 6:30 PM flight out. I have friends in Vegas that have offered to pick me up and take me to the best restaurant in town before returning me to the airport.

Which begs the question... what is the best restaurant in town that is open at 2:00 PM? (And please, no wisenheimers with comparison to the blue hair crowd :poke:)

Their flatbreads are good too. Accompanied by the blue cheese stuffed olives skewered with a rosemary sprig in a martini... Perfect.

We also enjoyed lunch at Todd english's PUB at Aria/Crystals.

Don't forget the $20.14 special at Milo's in Cosmo

Is food or atmosphere the main priority? If in Vegas for a only a few short hours, I'd pick Mon Ami Gabi just to bask in the strip action before flying out.

Anything youre craving? Like a fav restaurant or dish?

Julian Serrano would be my choice and is open all afternoon. Carnevino and Country Club Grill are open all day too and are fine choices.

Good stuff, so far. I'll add Delmonico, La Cave and Bouchon.

I've been to Vegas a dozen times, so I'm not looking for any particular atmosphere. Looking for some phenomenal food at a place open in mid-afternoon.

All my trips to Vegas, I've never eaten dinner at 2:00 PM!

Julian Serrano and Carnevino are the leaders in the clubhouse so far. Thank you for the suggestions, please keep them coming as there would be from three to six people eating.

The Country Club at the Wynn is a great place for lunch. Every time I've been there, I've come out full with good food in my stomach, and at a reasonable price to boot. The view is great, and it has a pretty relaxed atmosphere. There's a reason why Steve Wynn holds a lot of his business meetings at this restaurant during lunchtime.
