We're heading to Vegas for 5 nights in late December (12/26 - 12/31) and I'm looking for some advice on things to do. Our first trip to Vegas was for 3 nights during the same time of the month in 2013 so needless to say we enjoyed ourselves. We're not heavy gamblers by any stretch. I'll play some $0.25 ($1.25) VP and she'll play some very light slots. We do like to walk around and just take in the hotels and people watch but did get a lot of that in already last trip.

So, now we have 5 nights ahead and need to find some things to do.

    1) 12/26 - Arrival day. Will probably just walk around a bit and push through the time adjustment period.
    2) 12/27 - Planning to soak in Palazzo/Venetian, Wynn/Encore, and other North Strip area hotels. We did not have a lot of time to do this last trip.
    3) 12/28 - Looking to do a show. Any suggestions? Saw Love! last time and really enjoyed it. Considering Rock of Ages as I do enjoy the music of that era but am definitely open to suggestions.
    4) 12/29 - We've already booked a day trip to the Grand Canyon via Grand Adventures Tours. Definitely open to other suggestions.
    5) 12/30 - Last day in Vegas. Thinking about another show, maybe a Cirque show or La Reve if we do Rock of Ages on 12/28. However, I also noticed that Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is playing at The Orleans. Anyone seen them before?

We did not have a chance to check out the downtown area last trip so thought we might do that on 12/27 or 12/30. Worth a trip over? We don't have a car so would likely just hop on the bus unless it can be walked. (If there's even anything in between North Strip and downtown worth seeing via walk).

Appreciate any advice. This may be too vague to help so if you need more info let me know.

As a degenerate, like many people on this board, trying to identify other things to do isn't the easiest task Here's hoping that the folks here prove me wrong. I would recommend downtown and might suggest going mid-afternoon and staying into the evening. Being down there during the day is a very different experience than being there at night. Remember, you can't take bottles of alcohol onto Fremont Street - you have to pour your alcohol into a plastic cup. You aren't walking downtown from the north strip - take the bus or a cab. It's quite a distance and the trip down goes through a couple of rough places. Not Detroit rough but everyone thinks tourists have loads of cash. The bus is definitely an experience, especially at night.

Saw Rock of Ages in Toronto and loved the show. My favourite Cirque show is Mystere but I know a lot of people here don't like it. We've found that most of them are basically the same show. Not an opinion shared by many on this board. Because of the music, the MJ Cirque show might be a good option.

Sorry I can't be more help. Enjoy your trip. We're heading down on the 24th with my Mother in Law and leaving on the 29th. All we do is gamble. In the infamous words of Fred Flinstone - BEEETTTTT, bet, bet, bet, bet, BET!

Mystere is our favorite Cirque show, too.

We saw the Broadway production of Rock of Ages and loved it.

In our opinion, Raiding the Rock Vault, now at the Tropicana, is vastly superior to Rock of Ages! All the band members are/were with some of the best rock bands of all time and unlike Rock of Ages you get to hear the whole song, not excerpts. An unforgettable evening.

Jersey Boys at Paris is a great Broadway musical about Frankie Valli's life from a teenager, through his years with the Four Seasons, and into his solo career. It's probably the best show I've seen in Vegas. As far as a Cirque du Soleil show, I still like the original show, Mystere, the best. It's at TI.

I love people-watching at Petrossian piano lounge at Bellagio in the casino next to the lobby. I also like to lounge at Parasol Down at Wynn. Mostly because I liked one of the cocktail waitresses there a few years ago.

Rio has a zip-line between two of their buildings on the 50th floor. Fremont has a zip-line also. NYNY has the roller coaster. And Stratosphere has those attractions at the top of their tower. Or you could just go up to the observation deck. Paris also has an observation deck atop their half-scale Eiffel Tower.

Thanks for all of the advice everyone. Glad to hear about Raiding the Rock Vault so will definitely make a decision between that or Rock of Ages. Will likely wait to see which of those we can (hopefully) get a good deal on once we arrive.

We're also looking to do a Cirque show. Appreciate the heads up on Mystere. The fact that it's at TI is great since that is just across the street. But I've also seen that Ka now has the battle scene back. Which would you guys prefer between those two? Mystere vs. Ka? I'm going to go ahead and pre-book one or the other this weekend I think.

There are so many things to do there. We too enjoy walking everyday...with booze stops along the way. Do LOVE every trip.

I would scroll down through this section and you will find LOTS of opinions on things to do. And, you will find people that hate the same thing others love.

I second this. Check Groupon for discounts on Raiding the Rock Vault or maybe Tix 4 Tonight.
