Anyone know how ADT is computed for VP play? Is it adjusted based on the pay table of the machine played? I read in an old VP strategy book that the norm was 3% of coin-in, but not sure if that still holds true today.

    It's casino dependent.

It's set by the casino, usually based somewhat on the pay table of the machine.

Since VP is a skill based game, the casino ADT calculation will be higher than the true casino edge on the game if played properly.

You can only figure out the ADT setting on the machine by asking your host for your theo and doing a calculation yourself.

Usually, but not always. Cosmo has clearly shown from other members' data (mainly from @Riders) that they use optimal strategy numbers for the exact variants played for ADT.

For CET it's pretty much on target, the majority of their machines payout is around 97% or worse.
It used to be true for Boyd and Stations, but I think they are changing or already changed, that is, reduced.

3% "theo" is GENEROUS for video poker...but yeah, it's between 1%-3%, with the majority falling in the 2% range.

I'm still not clear what my ADT means to me. If my host tells me I have an average of 1500 for my trip, what should I expect next trip?

Average Daily Theoretical - the amount per day a casino expects to profit from your play. That number will also drive the value of the comps the casino is willing to offer.

Depends on how many days that theo number covers. You should aim for one third of that value for comps (this includes the value of the "free room"). So if that's a theo of $1500 per day, you should be able to use $500 in comps per day without much issue. This may mean you need to charge more things to your room and get them comped off the "back end".
