Anyone know what the additional driver fee is at Dollar?
The website just says there may be an additional fee, but doesn't say how much.
Would this be per day or per trip, etc...
    This NOT for a spouse.

I emailed them days ago asking this, but no response yet.

Michelle, when I called awhile back to inquire I think they said it was $13/day. That's why we don't rent from Dollar.

    Nancy,
When I looked into Budget...the price was still higher than Dollar, even w/the added add'l driver charge.

Whom else does not charge for added driver?

Michelle, do you have a Costco membership? I often book through them (usually Alamo) and part of the Costco deal is free 2nd driver.

    Nope, no Costco.
Not worth the cost to feed just me.

I think any that don't charge extra (Alamo, Hertz, Avis, Budget) only do it for a spouse/domestic partner. Check the prices on Costco just for the heck of it. If you rent often enough it may be worth your while to join.

are you a AAA member? If you are and so is the other driver, no extra cost with the AAA discount on Dollar, and I save enough on hotels (usually 10% off) , plus the peace of mind if I have car trouble I justify the cost, which is I think is like $50 a year

    Yes, I have AAA.

well, I checked the price of Budget, using my AARP, and it's basically the same cost, (however PREPAY) right now, of Dollar, once I add in the add'l driver cost.
So, I might as well stay with Dollar.
I don't have to prepay, and they only put a $150 hold on cc.

If you reserve with Dollar, keep checking prices and change res if price goes down.

I always just reserve as soon as we are thinking of a Vegas trip, prices fluctuate all the time.

I've even gotten one price in the morning, then that sane night, checked again and price went down again
