Agreed! I'm enjoying the show!
Just had a little lady try to rob me in front of Flamingo.
This almost got ugly.
People can Wynn here.
You, me...Everybody can Wynn!!
For some reason I want this to be an animated gif where naked Mr Chow comes running in and jumps on your buddy's back.
Will make an attempt to update at some point this morn.
College football was very good to me...except the complete ineptitude by San Jose State & UNLV in the Second Half.
My buddy who coaches YOUR ACC Champion Virginia Tech Track & Field team had a ticket for me to go see the Clemson / VT game and I settled for some better football with a crowd reaching about 6,000.
Loving this trip report.
Nice work on the sports bets. I picked CSU to cover in one of my pools. Woot!
Checking in on you dude. Hope you're ok
Mate, getting anxious. I hope the delay is for all the right reasons.
Thanks for the mentions, thoughts & concerns, my friends.
I've been a little off the grid on this one and, after last nights events, I haven't been in the most celebratory or joyous mood.
Last night was certainly surreal. I was about as far North from Mandalay Bay I could have been as I decided to hit up the Palomino at 8:30.
When I came out (around 11:30), the lone cabbie said he could take me anywhere other than the Mandalay Bay area because there was a mass shooting.
For obvious reasons, this was unknown and unannounced an hour and a half earlier inside the club. There was the football game on and whatever Hip Hop video that accompanied the song for the stage dancers...and I was upstairs for that hour, as is.
I told the cabbie I was at Elara, but it was understandable if he couldn't get over there. Get me as close as he could.
Metro had virtually everything already blocked off. You really couldn't access LV Boulevard as far down/up as Sahara. I didn't really know how serious the situation was, but the dispatch in the cab was saying that it was rumored that there were multiple gunman scattered across the city. The one guy said there was someone over at Hooters and another at the airport (obviously false information...but man alive).
I just had the Cabbie drop me off at Stratosphere . We had to take come backroads I, nor he, never knew existed...but he got me there. Then I walked to SLS to take the Monorail.
Monorail was not operating, so I walked S on the Strip. Every casino S of the SLS was on lockdown. You couldn't get in and they wouldn't let you out.
Got up to The Linq and that was the point where the Cops were just diverting the few of us stragglers to head directly east to the parking lot down by the High Roller. There was still an active shooter (even though there wasn't), so they cleared the streets.
I found it odd that they really wanted everyone off the streets...but there was nowhere to go.
I managed to get one of the rear entries of the Flamingo after getting a solid frisk (for the twentieth time last night....it was just that frisk one through nineteen were conducted by a pretty brunette).
It was 1:30 at this point and I have overindulged a lot these past three days, so I just walked up to registration and asked if they had any vacancy.
They did and I went up to watch all of the horrific shit that went down here. Passed out around 2:30 and got up at 5 AM to head back to Elara. The streets were still littered with law enforcement, but everything was open.
Anybody who actually sits and reads/browses through my nonsense knows that I like to make bad jokes and obscure references during these reports. I've really slacked on this one, but it's probably not an appropriate time for any updating on what has/hasn't happened the past 36+ hours. I've been working upstairs since 6:30 AM and it's just depressing thinking that all of those people are going somewhere to have fun and enjoy themselves with friends/family and so many of those lives are ruined right now. I just get angry thinking of these lone maniacs with their severe mental illnesses and just can never fathom how anyone could do such a senseless, destructive act when all they have to do is just put that God damn barrel in their own mouth and spare all of us of their existence.
I've always figured this town would be the easiest target for mass casualty just based on how much foot traffic is both outside and inside the resorts. Metro does an unbelievable job, but there's only so much you can do. It's extremely heartbreaking that it actually took place.
Thanks for checking in!
I love to have fun following along with your great TRs and I've been hoping you were okay!
