I was supposed to stay the weekend at the local over the 4th but decided instead to head to the in-laws and spend the weekend at the lake. That indeed was a wise choice as the temps were in the 90's and a nice dose of humidity. Yuck, but it sure made the lake a nice spot to be. Instead, I decided to hit the casino mid-week for an overnight stay. My local just opened on June 18th or 19th. So, gave them a call as most of the promotions are not going on, but was able to score a free room and the free play was still intact. I must say, that amidst all this COVID crap that I was quite impressed on how they were doing things. Details below: Upon arrival to the casino only the main entrance was open. This means that you must enter the main entrance to even get to the hotel. When you arrive you must provide a photo ID. They then record you name and ask 'the questions'... "fever, cough, travel, etc". They then scan you for fever and provide a day-color-coded wristband. I believe if you exit you still need to go through the same entrance protocols. NO smoking in the entire casino. Masks were required with the exception of eating or drinking. They have rearranged the main part of the floor (I kind of like the new placement) and removed some of the machines. Instead of every-other machine out they have actually have two machines between. I had no problem finding the machines I like to play (with one exception, and they have like 3 of them, none that were turned on. Tables do not open until around 4:00. Plexi-glass between each player as well as an upper shield that prevents players from breathing/coughing on the dealer. Sanitizing was often and obvious. (unlike my trip to LV where I saw very little cleaning compared to THIS). They have people cleaning wearing the yellow neon vests that say "Sanitizing Team" on the back. They come around often to clean. I gave the one guy $5 and told him "Thank you for doing what your doing". Good karma rewarded me later. They actually had sanitizing carts with spray bottles, hand wipes, etc. At some places they had large floor-standing sanitizing wipe dispensers. That was awesome IMO. The beverage person had a note on her cart to "NOT TOUCH" she said that if anyone even touches anything on the cart that she would have to empty the cart and refill Two of the 4 eating establishments were closed (the buffet obviously and their high-end restaurant, which was only open Thurs-Sun anyway). The deli was available for take out and the booths were removed. Most of the tables were gone. There were just a few so you could wait for your food. The other restaurant did socially distant seating arrangements. The vending machines all had been emptied of contents in both the casino and hotel. Our hotel usually has an abundance of ice machines, like 3 on each floor. The only one available was the one near the front desk so that it was easier for the sanitizing crew to clean it. Water fountains were not available. The pool was closed and was used to store all the extra chairs that had been removed from the casino. The bar lounge had removed over half of the tables. All of the bar stools removed (we do not have bar tops there anyway). The 2nd back bar ....might have removed almost all the stools as well. The rooms had the Keurig but no coffee available. Hell, even the Bibles were removed. Gambling started out kind of ugly and I quickly lost about half my bankroll. After I gave the cleaning dude the $5 things got a little better and I quickly regained almost all my losses. I came home only down $40, which I consider a win. Mid-evening I was surprised to see the foot traffic. Got an ugly eyeful ....3 drunk girls probably upper 20's or maybe 30, you know the kind, sloppy, loud, and somewhat obnoxious...LOL. One of them wearing a pair of short shorts at least one size (maybe 2) too small. Big ol' muffin top and half her ass sticking out. I mean, come on!! It's bad enough to see a dude with a big ol' plummers butt, but I think it was TWICE as bad on a lady. Go put on something that fits!!! Disgusting, certainly not sexy and WAY TOO MUCH CRACK. You cannot un-see that shit!!! Yuck Overall, I was very impressed in the way they are handling this. It appears that they are going above and beyond the required safety measures. I know the county where the casino is located has 8 confirmed cases of COVID. Let's just hope that doesn't spread and the casino goes back into lockdown I'll add a couple of pics from the hotel part. The casino is very strict about taking photos in the casino as I found out once. I almost had my phone confiscated when I took a pic of my SIL. I think they made me erase them.
