    My Trip Report

Its been a VERY long 9 days. My story begins with Luxor and ends with Cosmo. Two different casinos with two very different outcomes....

It’s hard to describe the ups and downs of this trip. It would most definitely been illustrated better with a semi-live report. I’m exhausted right now. Sitting to catch my flight back to Canada.

    Here we go....

I left Hamilton airport using SWOOP airlines. Checking in...was a breeze...small airport.

The flight to Vegas felt long but the service was exceptional....three legs with this discount airline and no problems yet...

Landed at McCarran about 9pm. Went through customs with no hitch. Cabbed over to Luxor. Cab driver dropped me off at the wrong doors. Had to trek through the other end of the casino to check-in. Stayed in a premiere deluxe suite. I felt like it was an upgraded standard room. With a separate living room. It wasn’t bad....it wasn’t WOW!!!!

I had $650 in freeplay. At first, I thought about running through just the freeplay and calling it a night BUT I’m a degenerate!!!! I played that money through Buffalo Gold. Surprisingly....I ended up with $700. Did I go to bed? Heck no!!!
I burned through that on that stupid Heidi (???) slot machine. Then burned through $600 back at Buffalo Gold. Another couple hundred at bubble craps. Now....I’m actually pissed. So, I go to the Wonka machines. Lose another $700. Now, I’m like WTF!!!

An ASIDE....I just walked into the smoking room and a guy hit for $3750 on a FIve diamonds machine (terminal 3). First handpay that I’ve seen this trip.

Back to my journey.... I’m down approximately $1500 of my own money...another brutal start!!! In shock...I stick $20 bucks in a dragon machine. I hit $11.75 by accident. I got a bonus on the first spin...never happened before....$575 back in my pocket. Peddled around a little more and was down $1000 on the night. Not my original plan but I accepted my own stupidity!!!

I went to bed pissed but said @&$ it. It’s Vegas!!!

Woke up the next morning. Showered. And was ready to go....I said I’m sticking to the Wonka game from now on. I grinded out a ton of points and lost another $400. Then I played like what @mccann did during his last trip. Bunch of small wins and I was down $900. Day2 was in the books. Better than day 1....

Day 3. I figured since I grinded out so many points on day 2 with a small gain. I would do the same. Back to Wonka. I quickly won $500 in the morning from 3 different machines. I decided to wander....another misstep. I dropped $1000. From being $400 down. I was back to basically square one. I played everything from Bomd slot, Zeus, Tall wonders. All with zero success. This was still morning. Time for a nap.

I showered again. Dressed up and went to MGM Grand. Quickly won $200 on Wonka. Another $200 on the newer Bond. Time for dinner. After dinner. I decided to stop by a different set of Wonka. Dropped $1200 into that machine. ZERO bonuses. I walked out. Now I was down $2700 What ups and down?????

Well....now I’m pissed off again!!! I stomp out of MGM Grand back to Luxor. I walk by the craps tables. Hmmmm.

Lifetime of craps....I’m probably up in earnings. I figure it’s time to give up the slots and just play craps. I’ve got $400 on me. Not a lot of money to play with but limits are low.

Seven out. Seven out. First 2 shooters are brutal. My turn. I’ve got $160 left. I’m all in. Let it roll...and roll....and roll. Not bad. I rolled long enough to cash out $1200. I head on back to Luxor. I play some Wonka. My day is done. I’m down $1300....time to go to bed.

Day 4. I figure it’s time to take it easy with my morning cigarette. I will play some more Wonka. I drop $800 bucks for a lousy cigarette? Now I’m back down $2100. I figure. That’s it. I went for breakfast and exhaustion started setting in. I went for a nap.

I wake up from the nap. Shower and head on over to Mandalay Bay for dinner. I stop off at Wonka. Win $200 pre dinner. Win $400 after dinner. Now I’ve really got Wonka fever. I go back to Luxor to play of course .....Wonka. I lose $1200 at the Luxor on Wonka. I say...that’s it....no more Wonka. I go upstairs to the safe. I reload on some cash and it’s off to the craps table. Deja vi. Seven out...followed by seven out....another seven out. Again. It’s my turn to roll. I’m down $3700 on the trip at this point. I bet the same way. I roll. And. Roll. And. Roll. I managed to claw my way back up to over $1000 win. Only down $1700 now. Time for bed.

Checkout day. Still feeling happy about the craps session the night before. I wake up and go immediately to the craps tables. Nobody is playing. I never play alone. So I wander around the casino. I play some walking dead. I lose $400 on that stupid game. 1 bonus betting $1.?? Then I go to the new Bomd. I drop everything I had in the wallet. Now I’m down $4000. I check out of Luxor fast enough. I’m pissed at myself!!!!

    Meals at:

Pyramid Cafe.....save your money and walk over to America at NYNY.

Craftsteak....was a below average meal. Had the surf and turf. Lobster and steak.

Stripsteak.....bone-in ribeye with king crab legs.....WOW!!!!! Worth every penny...

I had $600 RC. Used up $300. Asked the Mlife desk if I could buy Bruno Mars ticket with the rest of the RC....they never got back to me.....$&@/ers.

Impressions....not a fan of the place. Like I said earlier....room is alright. The crowd is not my cup of tea.

Won’t be back to the Luxor!!!!

This is enough reading for one day. There is still the second leg of this trip. Stay tuned.....

The first part of your TR sounds so much like an October trip of mine last year! Have an idea your second part will be better - much better;)

Sounds like a Dickens of a trip so far.

    It all sucks.

We are booked for NYNY next month but thinking of Luxor as we moving towards the lower end Mlife properties. Think again about that.

MGM's properites have generally been very tight lately. What makes it worse is generally the service sucks now too.
Funny, the Tower Premier Deluxe is actually a really nice suite for Luxor. Bathroom is way better than their standard.
I agree, the crowd there is less than desirable, though I like the suites. Worse than the crowd are the timeshare hustlers.

OK, what’s wrong with the crowd at Luxor. Staying there in 3 weeks.

Sorry about your luck. Been there, done that!

    Hey now.....I’m finally awake!!!!

After an uneventful safe flight home and a quick 30 minute drive I came home....

    Back to the trip...

Four and a half days should be enough for most degenerates but I am hardcore. I can gamble 24/7...Vegas is my candy store.

I cabbed over from Luxor to Cosmo around 11am. I’ve only spent 15 or 20 minutes in this place prior. I walk in through the doors and they immediately direct me to the VIP lounge....a Vegas first. First impressions are hard to break. My anger quickly disappears to elation AND I haven’t even spent a nickel yet!!!!

The room isn’t ready yet. The desk clerk takes me through a step by step process to get me started for the second part of the journey. I get my new players card loaded with $600 in freeplay. I use that over on the 4-wonders machine. I get an extra $350 to play with in real money. Off to craps. In the typical craps sessions fore-mentioned it’s seven out ...seven out. My turn again. I rolled the dice for a solid fifteen minutes hitting the all small before crapping out. I get the text that the room is ready. Off to the room I go up $1100 at Cosmo.

They put me in room 3805 of the Chelsea tower. All I can say is WOW!!!!! The view was dead on of both the fountains and the strip. You have everything that you would need as a traveller. Whether you brought it or you didn’t. For the first time EVER (Vegas)....I had the right pillow to sleep on....LOL.

A quick nap and a shower. It’s back to the craps tables. I joined a packed table. After quick seven outs (myself included), I packed it in. Down $1000 on the craps. I sat down watching some craps when a $25 chip rolled on to the floor. I grabbed it. When I asked the pit boss to return it to the player, he responded that they don’t do that. Because I knew what the player looked like...I took it upon myself to return it to the guy the next day. After that, I played various slots and dumped another $400. Down $400 at Cosmo....I called it a night.

Day 6. I was down over $4400 in Vegas but I didn’t feel bad. Cosmo gave me this joyous feeling. I showered and went downstairs. The first person I saw at the craps table was the guy from the night before. I walked up and returned the $25 chip. He was in shock. I wished him luck and went on my way.

I sat down for about thirty minutes watching people walk through the casino or playing various games. They all seemed happy....I was happy. It was my turn to play. I got up. Found a very joyous pit crew. And played some craps. I’m not one to brag but it was my own roll that gave me yet another $1000 win. It was past lunch and needed to lie down.

After a nice nap. I freshened up a little and went back downstairs to the craps tables. Again. A small profit of about $200. I went back up to the room. This time there was a problem.....no cell phone!!!!! I scurried to the room phone...frantically....called my cell with zero luck. I panicked all the way back to the craps tables to see if they had found it!??! No luck. The pit boss directed me to the lost and found which was only 20 feet away. I got to the lost and found and they asked me what my screensaver was....I didn’t know (LOL). It’s a space shot of earth. But they had it....I identified it with the 5 frantic calls from the room. What a relief!!!! For me. I don’t actually care about the cell. I was more worried about not having anything to do on the plane ride back home....LOL. For those of you that don’t believe in karma....this is a prime example!!!! By the time I got my cell back, I was exhausted. It could also be that I hadn’t slept properly in 6 days but I called it a night at 830.

Day 7. After a long and much needed sleep. I showered and eased my way back into the casino. Again. My favourite crew was working. I bought in for $1200. I ended up meeting a good guy from Naples. We threw the dice. With zero luck once around the table. I was down $900. He had a nice roll and I was back up to $600. I was up next and the guy from Naples moved on. I put the crew on the feature bet for $5 along with myself. I rolled. I rolled the ALL. I was feeling good. I put us both back on. I rolled the small. I was one away from repeating the ALL twice in the same roll. I cashed out with over $4000 in chips. I was still down about $500 (trip) at this point. It was time to eat something.

ZERO appetite. That’s what I had this trip. I didn’t feel like eating anything. It was soooo bad that I figured, I might as well try Wicked Spoon for the variety. Maybe something there would help me. I had 2 small servings of salad. A bunch of radishes. A couple of pieces of fried chicken. Fried rice with mixed vegetables. That was the most I’ve eaten in 7 days!!! It was all very good. The fried chicken was AWESOME!!! Off to craps...

I went down to the same crew. For me, it’s not a superstition thing as it is about atmosphere. I like to play where I feel comfortable. A few quick roll outs and it’s my turn again. I bought in for $1200. I put myself and the crew up on the feature. I hit the ALL again. That makes 2 consecutive rolls. The dealers were in shock!!! Apparently, the veterans have only seen one other person do it. But they’ve never seen someone throw the dice the way I’ve been shooting. This time it was more of the craps variety of numbers but a long roll. I took the win. For the first time in my trip. I was up over $1200 (overall). Time for a break and a much needed stretch.

Getting some food in my system felt good. Being up over $1200 made me feel better. The fact that everyone kept checking in on my needs (I didn’t need anything) made me feel like a champ!!!

For my third and final session of the day. I only rolled once and made another $800. I was up $2000 overall with 2 days to go. I actually didn’t care at this point whether I won or lost. It’s different here. It’s hard to explain.... time for bed.

Day8. Another day. A spectacular day 7 in the books. How on earth do you top that off? My regular morning routine of getting myself ready and then to the craps table. This time a new crew. My regular crew wasn’t in yet. Another nice roll. Another $1000. My table went cold quickly. Luckily, the favourite crew was working a cold table next to me. I moved. I gave some more money back. One High Roller had moved about four shooters after it was my turn. In my regular routine. I set the crew up along with myself. I rolled for about 30 minutes. One away from the ALL. I threw the dice at least 20 times trying to get the 2. It was still good....I was now up over $3500 on the trip. Luckily the man from Naples was able to catch the latter half of the roll and was able to recoup some of his previous losses and make $1800 profit. I am always happy when someone wins big on my rolls!!! Time to stretch in the room.

It’s getting tougher and tougher to play. Exhaustion is starting to set in. I’m trying to keep up my enthusiasm but it’s tough. It’s been a grind....

Anyways. Back to the tables. It’s Thursday afternoon and the crowd is different then the crowd from earlier in the week. I go to “the crew”. The table is very choppy but I still manage to win another thousand. Back upstairs....

I know I have to eat but I have zero appetite. I shower and get dressed. I ended up eating at Blue Ribbon....it was average. I did overhear the other customers rave about the drink quality but that’s all I’ve got to report.

Back to the craps after dinner. I ended up going to a different table. Let’s try it. My throw was useless. The crew was miserable. I actually left the table without colouring up. I was down $800 on that session. Instead of calling it a night. I ended up at UX 10-play nickel slots. After some ups and downs. I hit a royal. No multiplier. And left up $150. Next up Caveman Keno at $2.50 a spin. I hit 8 numbers. Again no multiplier. Now I’ve got back most of my losses from before. Some walking around. Some game watching. I packed it in for the day. I never actually counted the days total but I was up around $4500 for the trip.

Day9. Last day. I figured if I get out of the room early enough. The cleaning lady would set me up. Craps. The crew wasn’t in yet. I played anyways. I can’t tell you exactly at this point how much I won at each session because I just went to the cage and cashed in. In between cashing in and the room. I played some UX. Triple royal. I think I won over $400 before I left. I went to the room in between sessions and they never touched the room. I had a 10pm flight back and was trying to get a nap in. It didn’t work out like that but it didn’t matter. By the time I left for the airport I had hit another royal and some more craps wins (all-small). Once away from the ALL.

I tried to get one last craps session in around 5pm. That didn’t happen. The one last time I tried to get in on the table with “the crew” I didn’t make it in time. I watched a very nice roll for over 20 minutes. I had made enough...I was happy for the players winning!!!

I didn’t do the final count until I did all my banking this afternoon. I was in shock. My first win in over 12 trips is now officially in the books!!! After everything was said and done I have close to $7700 left in cash. That means I made with tips and replenishing the bank I won over $11k at Cosmo!!!!

    Notes;
This place rocked from start to finish. The winning made it better.

Everyone was always checking to make me feel at home from the time I arrived to the minute I left.

I don’t know if I will get a return offer considering I was there on a slot offer.

    I couldn’t wait to get home....I’m exhausted!!!

    I hope you enjoyed!!!!

Great TR, your luck definitely turned round there. Awesome that it was in the slightly more salubrious surroundings of the Cosmo. Nothing would be worse than the lucky venue being a shithole

Its making me want to play craps

Very very nice. I’m almost a exclusive craps player. 80%. 20% slots
I’d love to have that many positive sessions on my up coming trip.
    Love the report!

A few side notes and after thoughts on both casinos.

    Luxor.

I saw plenty of people getting drinks and not tipping the waitresses.

I saw plenty of people pretending to play slots in order to order drinks.

Some people dress up at night but I saw plenty of Walmart wear (as in I don’t give a....)

The slots were much more fair than in other MLife casinos

The drink service was very good.

    Check-in was bad

    I give it a C rating.

    Cosmo notes:

People are dressed up most of the day. Night time was a pleasure.

Drink service was top notch....all day.

Craps crews sucked. I found the right ones. Shout out to Mike from Michigan, Dan from Wisconsin, Rocky from Japan, Sasha from Serbia, Kevin (????), Andrew from (he won’t tell you, older guy), and pit boss Judy. All were phenomenal

    Check-in/check-out was top notch

    Host was top notch

    Rating AAA-the best

Great report, well worth the read.
Correct me if I am wrong: It sounded like you stayed at the Cosmo for the first time. How would you get $600 in freeplay? Did a host move over to Cosmo and invited you along?
