It was an absolutely PERFECT day at the pool. Came up to the room and unpacked from the trip, showered and got dressed for the evening.

Went back to playing the same slot machine and was up and down a lot. Got quite a few handpays and ended four hours later just ahead of even for the day, which is, relatively speaking, AWESOME!

Kudos to the VMBer who found it fitting that I was playing a Moon Rising game. I hadn't thought of that but it is so true! Some hits. This is actually more than I normally play. $12.50 in dimes is my sweet spot though I have been playing quarters.

I am now finishing a wonderful meal at SW. I haven't dined here I think in at least three years, which is many trips.

Anyway, I decided I was going to try it again and made a reservation a few weeks ago. The food was good the couple of times I dined here but it didn't seem as warm and inviting as Lakeside, though David Walzog is the Executive Chef of both restaurants.

Well, as I am walking toward the restaurant after just gotten a handpay that brought me back to a bit more than even for the day (yay!), I get a text from Jack about my dining at SW. He is a GM at Costa and one of my favorite people at Wynncore. Well, Jack is helping out at SW tonight, as is the manager at Sinatra that I saw Sunday night, as well as a woman who I remember worked at Country Club. I saw all three of them and we did socially distanced awesome greetings and I knew it was going to be a spectacular evening.

I am far from being a regular at SW, but Jack hooked me up with the perfect table next to the lake.

    My meal was great.
    Warm Parmesan bread with butter
A Waygu slider with some amazing sauce, courtesy of the chef
    Steak
Brussel sprouts and crab gnocchi with truffles. OMG.
Also a wonderful glass of red wine.

I am stuffed but them the waiter brought out a signature SW dessert, which I have never tried, but now it is one of my favorite desserts. Period. Wow.

Awesome dessert. I am sure these are best warm but there is no way I am leaving all of this here. Jack got me fresh containers of the three sauces (chocolate, vanilla and caramel) and I now have a sweet to go box. :)

If that container is styrofoam and the funnel cake is still warm, something in between them would be a good idea :hmmm: Otherwise, WANT lol :licklips::feedme:

Wow - amazing meal, amazing time in Death Valley. I haven't been, but it's on my list for when we do a southwest driving trip. Zion and Arches too. Maybe next summer....

Really enjoying your TR - thank you for sharing your lovely trip with us:).

Just got to the room. My host thought I had come back today and arranged for this treat, which I am just now seeing at almost 2 am. How lovely. New flowers and some snacks.

My old ones are fading but should be good for another couple of days.

Is it even possible to add a Super Grand to that? I guess if it is, we’ll be seeing it in one of your TRs eventually

Wow, @Flowers what a perfect trip you're having!

I'm married to an astronomy geek with a plethora of stargazing equipment, so the "starry" part of your report is great. He would be in heaven with your side trip!

I on the other hand am starry-eyed over your great hand pays!

Hope your trip continues to be filled with beautiful flowers and magical moments.

Based on context clues, I am going to guess it may have been atop a sand dune. From the ground, those don't looks bad for those with fear of heights. But once you reach or get near the top and look back down, it can be surprisingly disconcerting

Loving your report and can't wait for the pictures from Death Valley. Your dinner at SW looked amazing and has me thinking of making a reservation there for our trip in June. Congrats on your slot comeback. Hope the luck continues.
