    My Trip Report

    June 17th to June 22nd

Thank you to this board for updating and keeping us in the know for our trip to a reopened Vegas.

Checked in for our flight on June 16th on Spirit and we both got "b" seats. Hmm...we thought that was odd because we thought they were leaving the middle seat open for social distancing. Then, in the middle of the night, we both got emails asking if we had flexible plans and wanted to give up our seat. Hmmm, wait a minute, I thought these flights were going to be half empty. Turns out our flight was completely full. Zero social distancing. This was one leg of our journey to Vegas.

We left Tampa and went to Chicago for the first leg and then Chicago to Vegas for the 2nd leg. I know....crazy! Our ticket was 49.80 round trip so we just went with it. So we were late leaving Tampa and got to Chicago with minutes to spare before boarding our final leg to Vegas. Thank goodness the gates were practically right next door to each other. Of course I had "b" on my boarding pass. I got on the flight and it was pretty full. I sat in my "b" seat and there was someone in the aisle seat. We waited until almost take off and no one else came so I was able to move to the window seat which made for a spacious flight. My boyfriend got stuck in a row with 2 other men. That will teach us to buy a seat!

Now, we had fully intended on eating a nice breakfast at the airport before our flight. We got there with plenty of time but the only option that was open was Starbucks at our gate. We ate egg sandwiches, it was blah but did the trick. We wanted to get lunch in Chicago but there wasn't time. We brought snacks ,thank goodness, but not a real meal.

Our plane is now in the air to Vegas and it will be 6 pm Vegas time and 9 pm our time before we are going to be able to eat dinner. I will update once we get settled into our hotel.

We are booked at Cosmo 2 nights (resort fees only) and then we move to the newly reopened Paris for 3 nights(resort fees only.) Paris reopens the 18th and we check in on the 19th so hopefully it will be nice and clean for us. We originally booked Ballys but it didnt open in time.

We plan to spend a lot of time at the pool, gamble, film videos, and walk as much as the heat will allow us.

For food we plan to hit MonAmi Gabi, Gordan Ramsay FishnChips, In and Out Burger, Pizza Rock, Secret Pizza and others.

We love music so hoping that we can find some bands playing somewhere? Even the Piano Bar at Harrahs or New York, New York will work.

We are both very nervous about being in Vegas with the social distancing seemingly non existent. We plan to wear our masks in the casino but with drinking, that may be difficult.

We both needed a well earned break and when we got super cheap airfare and comped rooms, we felt it was too good to pass up.

We also are tacking on a side trip to San Diego. We leave the morning of the 22nd and get back into Vegas on the 25th for our flight home. We are renting a car and seeing the sights on the drive to California.I have never been to California and my boyfriend used to live there so he has been anxious to take me there. Okay 2 hours to go...update soon.

That sounds like a terrible flight experience.

To ensure I’m not mistaken, you originated in Tampa, flew to Chicago, then back to Tampa before going to Vegas?

Hope things get better for you guys and have a great time in Vegas.

So when we checked in they said we had 100 resort credit and no resort fees. Crazy comps in Vegas. Get here.

Thank you. The original post had no line feeds and was very hard to read. Now that they put CR/LF in it I can see that it was Spirit.
